i dont think i've watched any godard yet... afaik. what's so good about Godard? that name's been floating around w/Traffault/Fellini and French New Wave right? it's all i know. i've seen only 400 Blows, that thing is incredible i luv it on BD =).
there is a post somewhere on criterion discussion forum, but 7 samurai is 'rumored' for fall of 2010 because it took longer than expected. it is, after all, a nearly 4 hour film! they were originally targeting 7 sam for March release, same w/the 2 AK releases. but i'm actually glad they are...
ccfix, u dont work for Criterion right? i dont see an insider tag on u =P. they are on facebook BTW, great way to interact with them because they finally accepted my suggestion of creating a filter for their newsletter. i want blu-ray titles ONLY newsletter, not just DVDs lol. hopefully that is...
thanks for sharing ccfix =P. i'd like to also add that an obvious response to that would be: why not hire more people to the workflow?
well, they'd need to sell twice to 5x the current quantity/volume to support those efforts, lol. just guestimating ;). it's all about volume. the fact is...
thanks ccfixx,

7 Sam in glorious 1080p!!! whoa /img/vbsmilies/htf/eek.gif
i dont like the new box. i'd rather them go w/the standard packaging. the new box is TOO THICK, a throwback to DVD days and PS3 game boxes. time to go slim, not THICK! i'm already out of spaces =(
pre-ordered it =). BD was out in Europe/UK edition already last year. i wanted to buy it back then but the imported was like $50!!!!
i'm glad i waited =P
i buy criterion for the picture quality and adherence to classics. stuff like the rock or Armageddon are bonuses... but not requirements.
i just preordered 7th seal for june. keep them black and white classics coming!!! i luv owning classic b&w films on BD! =D
with the really slim ones, like the matrix or batman cases u can still read the back spline. u dont' really need anything thicker than that, it'll take up even more space.
isn't that as thick as DVD cases? i want slimcase for everything now to save shelf space. i'm talking SLIMMER than BD cases even. i can understand if the BD case contains seasons of series like dexter or lost, but most single disc or double disc film features can be done via really slim cases to...
i've got: Last Emperor, Bottle Rocket and Chunking.
i've always loved Criterion's quality. Criterion+Blu-Ray=awesome.
i was hoping for more Michael Bay/Criterion partnerships when it comes to blu-ray. The Rock, Pearl Harbor and Transformers all look good on BD, but i think Criterion could do...
