    I just watched Cimarron last night. I liked it, but perhaps not quite as much as you did. The story seemed a bit disjointed even allowing for the fact that it covers such a broad span of time. Nevertheless, it's an impressive film. That start of the Oklahoma land rush is spectacular.

    Those noir qualities work really well with the post-war films featuring the older stars who brought a world weary aspect to their roles.

    That Dodge City scene in Cheyenne Autumn is utterly baffling to me. I cannot imagine why anyone thought it was a good idea.

    Man from Snowy River is very good. I remember seeing it in a theater and it immediately become on of my wife's favorite films. Consequently, I've seen it multiple times in multiple formats.
