Nor TNG or TOS. :P You're in for an amazing experience. It only gets better from there.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I was asleep in front of the TV and I woke up to Back to School. I was amazed by how beautiful the girl on the screen was, and she sort of seemed familar. I finally woke up enough to realize it was Terry Farrell. I didn't even know she was acting back then.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

It's hard to watch any other Trek after DS9. I've made peace with no followup as long as they don't ignore it. You know, come out with a new show that pretends the Dominion War never happened or something. It's hard to gauge that since the concurrent series was in another quadrant for the...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I don't think we'll see a continuation of DS9. It seems like it's the least known, least popular Trek with the general public. I've never met anyone who knew anything about it. My friend's wife watches Voyager any time it's on, but I don't know that she's ever seen DS9.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

Sadly, I finished the series last night. Still the best Trek ending episode we'll probably ever get. This may make some of you mad, but the first half felt like a really good Star Wars movie, with the awesome space battle and the skillful cutting to Bajor and the other stories cooking back...

In Odo's case, shapeshifting accelerates the disease, but he can still do it.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

Finished Dogs of War, so the next one is it. It's always bittersweet to come to the end of a great series. The finale is double-length, right? I don't want to start it before bedtime and find out I'm too tired to enjoy it. Why does the female shapeshifter look the way she does? Is it just...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I've watched TNG all the way through a couple of times, so I do like it. There are just certain shows that I like, but the *idea* of watching them is not always appealing. Anyone else like that? I'll sometimes say, "Man, I don't feel like watching Sanford and Son," but if I sit down and watch...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I was thinking of Hero Worship. The Enterprise investigates a ship that is adrift, and the Breen are suspected of being the ones to disable it. If I remember right, the crew was on edge when they thought it might be the Breen.

Changing Face of Evil. Things have really gotten interesting since they went back to the war. Damar, Damar, Damar. I'd forgotten all about his turn. It was believably executed. I think they've been building up to it since last season. It's kind of like Darth looking from Luke to the...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

Last night was Emperor's Cloak. I'm not a huge fan of the mirror episodes--it's a lot to swallow that the same characters would be in the same place even under the mirror conditions--so I was expecting to not like it. It was better than I thought, though still not a total favorite. Merging it...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I started watching Voyager the night it premiered and stuck with it for a while. I actually liked it, but I really was not one to watch series television every week, so I drifted away from it. When it started playing in reruns on a local channel, I watched it from beginning to near the end (it...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I don't think the public really knows the show at all. To do it right, they'd have to spend a lot of time getting people up to speed. A main thing to address would be the return of the captain. I've had some ideas about a return that I think would be interesting. I'll spoilerize it so you...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I'm into season 7. I didn't remember much about Ezri, but I expected to not like her. I like her alright. Still, I'm not looking forward to my next episode--Prodigal Daughter. Doesn't a large segment of the fanbase not like Vic? I always did and still do.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

In my "DS9 movie trilogy" fantasy, a small part involved the idea that things didn't work out between Julian and Ezri, and Sarina came back into his life.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I started back after taking a big pause when the fall season started. I can't remember the title right now, but I most recently finished the episode after His Way.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

She was really annoying for a good number of episodes around that time. She returned to normal soon thereafter. But, the Ship was a stressful situation, but nothing character-altering. It's probably been a month or more since I watched that, so I don't remember exactly what you mean. Anyway...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I'm talking about an overnight change. The Dax of "The Ship" didn't exist before season 5. There have been other scenes where she seemed totally disconnected. Maybe this was the start of Farrell's restlessness with the show.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

Is it just me, or have they dumbed Dax down in season 5? Her inappropriate jokes and the general way she carries herself just seem so out of character. It's been about two months and a week since I started watching the series again. I most recently watched Trials and Tribble-ations.

Yeah, I read about it in the Companion Guide, which is a must-have. I think it was when Jonathan West came over as the main lenser.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I watched Shakaar. A pretty good episode, marred by the B story and a single line of dialog. First of all, the B "story" was pretty weak: "O'Brien plays darts!" And, it caused the timeline to be screwed. O'Brien tears his rotator cuff and requires surgery. Bashir says, "He'll be back and...

Thanks. I went to a few places I know like Memory Alpha and tv.com but I couldn't get a real sense of how it was regarded.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

Haven't I read online that the episode "Explorers" is not highly regarded? I think it was excellent, in both the A and the B storylines. The lightship was beautiful, and it was neat seeing that kind of conveyance in Star Trek.

I liked that episode in the past. I'll have to wait and see what I think now.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

If this is her first time through, she'll only come to love the Ferengi even more. Wait until Nog kicks into high gear. I've said it before, but I still crack up at just the thought of Wallace Shawn as Zek. I watched Prophet Motive a few days ago, and he didn't fail to amuse me.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

Just watched Distant Voices last night. Please let that be the last Joe Menosky epsiode. The man is just plain bad. If everyone's acting out of character, imagination or thought assumes bizarre physical form, and everything is reset at the end of the episode, you're probably watching Menosky...

I was a little surprised that the mirror episodes started as early as season 2. I didn't remember that at all.

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

I watched Necessary Evil. That is a damn good episode. Excellent script, deft direction (example of a small, almost invisible touch: Bajoran children playing on the station in the present, directly followed by a flashback scene with Bajoran children living in fear), and some of the first...

Deep Space Nine: For the Fans

A lot of 4x3 material is like that. I have a CRT 16x9, and I find that any 4x3 television in the house looks better on standard cable than the 16x9 does. Also, my digital cable 4x3 is several inches wider than 4x3 DVDs. I don't know why that is. They are both the correct ratio, but digital...
