I've been about 50/50 on this movie since it came out but I enjoyed it quite a bit on yesterday's rewatch. Luke/Rey/Kylo Ren arc is still the overall highlight and saving grace for this film for me. It's also pretty distinctive visually from the previous movies with some terrific cinematography...
IMO - They should have left Luke's reaction to Han's death in. And the extended Phasma scene.
I'm glad they cut the "raiding party" scene. It just makes Luke look like more of an asshole.
The Tom Hardy stormtrooper scene is funny but the accent is jarring.
Even Empire was being referred to as "Episode II" originally.

Some early storyboards with "Episode II" still in the crawl from "The Making of The Empire Strikes Back"...
It's odd because I've seen lots of very passionate opposition to it here, Twitter & elsewhere, but the feedback I've seen from most of my FB friends has been overwhelmingly positive, even from those who waited a week or two to see it. And they range from very casual fans who only recently...
Sounds like griping just for the sake of griping to me. Luke never showed any manipulative abilities before retrieving his lightsaber from the Wampa in Ep V to save himself, either. All he'd shown prior to that was being able to sense when the remote was shooting at him, and when to time the...
Leia: Luke, don't talk that way. You have a power I don't understand and could never have.
Luke: You're wrong, Leia. You have that power too. In time you'll learn to use it as I have. The Force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it and... [looks directly at Leia] My sister has it...
And one reason why I'm looking forward to seeing what Rian does with a new trilogy more than any of the other upcoming Star Wars movies. He's not afraid to take chances and I really have no idea what we're going to get.
It describes real-world obstacles outside of hyperspace being a danger to a ship flying through hyperspace. Perfectly consistent with the way Rian chose to handle it.
Hyperspace was described by Han as potentially catastrophic literally the very first time it is shown in ANH.
“Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip...
Exactly. My biggest issue with Into Darkness. The reveal is supposed to be a surprising moment for Kirk & co but it's only surprising for the audience because Cumberbatch/Harrison in no way resembles the Khan we know. It makes no sense story-wise and I still despise it.
Snoke could have been...
I have a soft spot for TPM. Qui-Gon, Darth Maul, No Hayden Christensen, first Star Wars in 16 years, and some nice visuals. Other than Jar-Jar I kind of like it.
1) Empire Strikes Back
2) Star Wars
3) Return of the Jedi
4) The Last Jedi
5) Rogue One
6) The Force Awakens
7) The Phantom Menace
8) Revenge of the Sith
9) Attack of the Clones
