Johnny Guitar was a Republic Picture. Paramount owns the Republic library in the U.S. now. How can Universal own the UK rights? Do Universal own other Republic films?
I personally will be renting the Universal edition, as I suspect the transfer won't be that great and I anticipate a Paramount...
Optimum's transfers are usually very good. I would imagine that it will be a new anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer. Like Donald said: don't expect any extras. But as long as the transfer is 2.35:1 anamorphic from a good source, it will be a sure-fire purchase.
