Press Release PHE Press Release: War of the Worlds (1953) (4k UHD) / When Worlds Collide (1951) (Blu-ray) Limited Edition

I've never heard the funny/tragic story of humanity better expressed. All the evidence in the world will be met with a blank stare/slightly opened mouth as emotions force the brain to obviate data that interferes with what personal vanity demands. Others see how we are lying to ourselves, but...

Press Release PHE Press Release: War of the Worlds (1953) (4k UHD) / When Worlds Collide (1951) (Blu-ray) Limited Edition

One only has to go back in time far enough to grab a copy of Paramount's Special Edition of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS on DVD, which, effortlessly and triumphantly, provides the accurate color palette for this film. If they had just made that into a Blu-ray (then later a 4K UHD) with a basic...

The Imprint release of WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE was quite nice. The color palette wasn't fiddled with, thank goodness, so we don't have to worry about planets turning up with the wrong hues. All Paramount has to do is clean up the little speckles, standard procedure these days with most releases of...

Press Release PHE Press Release: War of the Worlds (1953) (4k UHD) / When Worlds Collide (1951) (Blu-ray) Limited Edition

The 4K UHD TWOTW should have been a separate release. If Paramount's profit hopes for WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE were minimal, so producing a 4K UHD version of it wasn't desired, they should have simply issued WWC as a single Blu-ray, and not forced buyers to make this kind of purchase. And if...

I'm not sure about what's streaming these days, but the version of DESTINATION MOON that TCM shows is 16mm. The old Image DVD that WW supplied a print for is the only place I know of where the movie can be seen in its native 35mm.
