BETTER OFF DEAD is one of the '80s best known and most beloved teen comedies, and should sell incredibly well. This is the film that...
I stand corrected. I forgot how many times I've seen these films lumped together
The Ten Commandments The Godfather Part II
Breakfast at Tiffany's Saturday Night Fever
Once Upon a Time in the West Grease
The Godfather...
kind of doubtful, mid 80's was 25 years ago, Better of Dead was a so-so film not many people have even heard of. paramount has better 80's films they could release (Ragtime, Flashdance, An Officer and a Gentlemen) but better off dead????
this film was dated with the under 40 crowd the year...
that's a pretty odd choice for a blu-ray release considering Paramount has not released much in the way of catalog titles. Maybe this is a Walmart exclusive? Considering the Paramount films not yet released on Blu-ray:
Chintatown,
Roman Holiday
Sunset Blvd
just to name a few
This hasn't been confirmed and really does look like an error on the part of The New York Times
Universal usually announces a blu-ray two months before the street date so this is probably just for DVD
Great news about "Once Upon a Time in the West" - I guess this means "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is coming in September
Yay! "The Big Country" from MGM...can "The Great Escape" be far behind?

And May/June is clearly "release Westerns for Father's Day" in Paramount and MGM/Fox's view, which is most welcome.
I guess Mothers don't get...
Amazon has "Tommy" 1975 (the WHO, Ann-Margret, Oliver Reed, Tina Turner, Elton John, Eric Clapton) up for pre-order on Blu-ray - release date not yet announced. Director Ken Russell is appearing tomorrow night at the "Tommy" screening at The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts in L.A.
