importcds.com has the entire series of Gunsmoke for $194.25, which brings it down to $9.71 per season. Pretty amazing considering what they used to charge for the half-season sets.

12 releases this week? Sigh. Remember the good old days when tvshowsondvd.com would sometimes report on 12 releases a day? And you could always count on several releases of the "classic" vintage. I am very, very grateful that Gord and Dave are still doing this, but times have surely changed.

It would be very interesting to be let in on the machinations behind the scenes at CBS, not just with their two iconic westerns, but their philosophy (if there even was one) about their tv on dvd releases in general. With Gunsmoke I've speculated, wondered, and often waited. And waited some...

Great, great news about another season of Gunsmoke. And hopefully this indicates that CBS is going to pick up the pace of the releases a little bit going forward.
