I forgot to add to the above post that i have had a region error message in the past with my modified Oppo, i had tried the disc and it was set to the wrong region, it was a region B disc and i had the player set to read region A, it remembered failing the region check and kept refusing to play...
You might need a firmware upgrade, occasionally new copyright protection keys are released and put on the discs and this can sometimes require a firmware upgrade for your player, if you have already done that then maybe its just a faulty disc.
If its a region error message then try manually...
I think everything except the movie is in French.
Jean Pierre loves the degrain tool and my opinion is that Delicatessen suffered because of this, having said that i believe Sony/Columbia has been working with Jeunet on The City Of Lost Children, i'm sure it's finished, they just need to...
When i checked it out on the DLP projector i saw no ghosting so i'm thinking it's a display issue again, might be worth checking out some of those early titles again on your new Samsung, i think they will perform better now.
After reading your review i am very much looking forward to the film...
The Weinstein's also like to re-edit films ( sometimes ) and i think they have it for later this year.
Is the 3D in Spivet better than that seen in Hugo. ?
I still haven't watched Hugo yet but it looked okay and checking out scenes in both i thought they shared some qualities.
I think this is going to come out in the USA but will be the censored version as seen in the UK, i don't think you can get away with the words used in this film for a PG-13 although you never know, thus the French edition is the only way so far to see it uncut.
Looking forward to viewing it...
