Let's hope they use it, i was reading how she finished working on The Color Of Money and it looked great, come the blu ray release they used something older, something rotten for the transfer, that's despite the new approved version being available.
Sometimes studio are so lazy and don't care...
I wish i was able to delete* my post, made a mistake, now i have nothing to write.
*Maybe a new forum feature, let us delete our posts, give us a 5 minute grace period.
I know who did the actual encode for that one and that's why i cannot see it being better ( the encode side of things )
Yes i agree, more than likely sourced from the same 2K film scan and good for those who only have access to Region A titles.
I would say to some people it is, we are all unique and have different tastes.
I suppose as far as the absorption* part goes then it probably also depends on the type of paint used.
*I know, it's absorbing but it didn't work using that word, i'm also in a funny mood, that's funny ha ha...
I hear ya, last time i tried painting a wagon the owner was none too pleased and i had to make a quick exit from the scene.*
*Always ask the owners permission before painting a wagon, especially when you're singing while doing it.

The Brood is already out in the UK although i'm sure a Criterion release would have lots of good extra content.

I think Time Bandits already has a good release from Arrow in the UK, perhaps Criterion have just licensed an edition based on that 2K film scan and subsequent master, the encode is excellent on that one so i doubt image quality would be improved.
I would pay for Mulholland Drive, i think the...
Despite the usual fuss over a movie with sex scenes i think Blue is the Warmest Color is pretty tame, unrealistic looking sex too, with the usual editing, they film one bit of the sex scene and it's a wrap, they film a bit more and it's a wrap and so on and then they edit it together and i just...
What's their usual price for shipping to the UK. ? I'm wondering if it will be cheaper using Amazon because they will add taxes, if i buy elsehwere i will probably be hit by import tax and VAT charges as well as a large Royal Mail delivery fee.
I haven't really kept up with this thread but has Criterion ever issued a statement regarding the awful release of Les Enfants Du Paradis. ?
Obviously their hands were tied and the restoration was carried out by Pathe but i am surprised Criterion released it, i was reading a good article on...
I think i'll wait until at least Xmas then and see what announcements surface.
I thought the MOC version of M was a little too brightened up compared to the Criterion too although the German Universum one got everything right compared to both the Criterion and Eureka ( MOC ) releases, i guess...
Masters Of Cinema series has Red River coming out on the 28th October, one of my favourite westerns, i am wondering if Criterion has it on their schedule, i don't like buying titles multiple times and Criterion tends to have better extra content, so maybe i should wait, it's hard to resist this...
Just changing from MPEG2 and keeping a bit more film grain intact in some scenes would be an improvement, also get the director involved and go back to the original look of the film, i felt the MGM changed this in some scenes, maybe i am wrong on that and maybe the director was involved with the...
Shame, i'd love a better transfer of both and that commentary track on lambs, i guess they figure sales would be low since they are so cheap to buy at the moment, personally i'd spend extra for a quality release of both.
I sure as hell do not want to buy that awful MGM release of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, i'd buy in a heartbeat the Italian release with English dialogue, if it happens i think releasing theatrical and the extended would be a good idea.
I too think there is room to better the current blu ray of The Silence Of The Lambs, i'd like to see more of the film grain retained and i'd like to listen to the commentary track that Criterion has the rights to and which was not on the current MGM edition, Spartacus in particular needs...
