I agree. I'm watching many of these episodes for the first time, going chronologically. I'm in Season 3 and it has been my favorite so far. I think "The Furnace" is an all-time classic.

I don't think this is fully accurate. The first couple I've seen share a bed on TV who *weren't* married in real life was Gertrude Berg and Robert H. Harris on The Goldbergs (1954). It's likely they were not the first, but we'll never know because so much early programming is forever lost.
