I don't have cable TV. Streaming in Canada on Crave TV. I would check it out but I don't want to have to subscribe to yet another streaming service for one show.

Airplane was its own thing. It wasn't part of the "Airport" franchise parodying its own canon. That was my point. I don't much care for a film or series in the same franchise mocking or parodying its own subject matter and/or canon.

I haven't seen the show, but I'm not enamored of series that make fun of and parody a universe that they belong to.

I can see why he wouldn't consider the original animated series as Canon. The animation was bad and some of the stories didn't really fit the Star Trek universe. It was sort of interesting to see Larry Niven's Known Space story "The Soft Weapon" adapted for the show but it never really fits the...
