    You certainly captured the look color-wise of several Fox titles I have (WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER, THE KING AND I, THE BLACK SWAN, WILD RIVER, etc.), or at least night scenes therein.

    I can see how 1.33 would be preferred by many -- so many small details are missing from the widescreen framing. I really think a choice would have been better. Anamorphic improves resolution. I think it can even be used when authoring 1.33 films (?). Still, a choice, please.

    Could be, Philip. I know that Kubrick had an affinity for the Academy ratio even up to his death, so it isn't beyond possibility. However, we do not have any testimony from either Lean or his biographers that I know about (I have several books about him) to that effect, at least not in print...
