My CVS have now opened appts for 2nd Booster. I'd probably get it tomorrow if I didn't have a Wedding to attend this weekend so probably will go Mon/Tuesday next week I'm a J&J 1, Moderna Booster person. Generally lower risk except age and in an area that hasn't really seen much of a O-2...

I'm trying to remember who gave me the Flu and a week later the Moderna Booster. I'm 99% it wasn't a nurse, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Pharmacist either time. I want to say it was one of the Pharm Techs b/c the last time the one who registered me at the front desk and walked me through...

Part of that confusion is the dates on the advice and realizing that things are being learned very rapidly on the fly. Comparing current recs with advice that came out 4-6 months ago or even last year when little data had been accumulated (esp the 2nd and 3rd lines above) is where a lot the...

The evidence certainly suggests the mRna booster provide a much bigger boost in Antibody levels than a 2nd JJ with Moderna outperforming Pfizer in the relatively small numbers they reported. I'm not sure I've read anywhere that's it's strongly suggested or preferred over another J&J, but in my...

Pretty much the same -- arm much more sore than with the original J&J in April or my Flu shot last week. No other real symptoms that I can tell -- maybe a little achy tonight, but hard to blame that completely on the vaccine.

A bunch of folks locally updated to allow Boosters this morning. Walked into my CVS and got the Moderna Booster -- the Tech who was checking me in and registered me wasn't sure about mixing since they didn't have the Johnson, but checked the system and everything was fine. We'll see how...

Reading and hearing the same. The CVS where I got my Flu shot last week even has the Moderna, but they've not updated to allow Booster Doses yet -- maybe next week I did have a John Mellencamp Small Town moment a bit earlier. Since the local numbers have dropped 60-70% in the last 2-3...

    The COVID Vaccination Thread

Now that all 3 US vaccines have authorized Booster and the Mix and Match things may be looking up. Now just have to get them to authorize Boosters for a wider group of folks. Somewhat more interesting is the Johnson folks all sort of now sidedoor eligible for Booster regardless of any other...

Sadly, locally I think we are are 40% eligible Fully vaccinated and 50-55% partially -- which is nowhere near the worst numbers in the state. Getting my Flu Shot tomorrow and hoping they expand the Booster shot program down is age just a little. It appears my County is past the recent peak...

After a certain date, all leftover US vaccines would get sent elsewhere and previously eligible folks in the US who had refused won't be allowed to get it. Best strategy ever devised to increase vaccine rates since all true American know once you're being forbidden to have (esp if it's being...

Even that I believe is incorrect, but as mentioned not very equivalent anyway just due to the length of time it takes US numbers 480K including approx 40K 2nd hand smoke vs minimum 600K and likely closer to 800-900K COVID accounting for significant undercounting (unintentional and intentional)...

I'm not sure of the details of the 99.98% number, but everything I read early in the Pfizer and Moderna trials was max 95% and even that wasn't infections, but disease. I thought that was one of reasons for the suggestion of continuing the mask wearing after vaccination since the vaccine...

I've had tinnitus literally as long as I can remember -- just the high pitched sound, not the whirring or roaring that some people describe. It baffled me when I described it as a 1st/2nd grader and nobody knew what I was talking about. When the audiology people came to check hearing in...

I haven't looked, but is there some reason not to just make a good copy and cardstock and laminate that and keep the original in a safe place. It should be nearly indistinguishable from the original (esp after lamination and I'm not 100% sure you'd need anything more official anyway from some...

Spoke with someone on the phone a bit earlier today who got their 2nd shot about 10 days ago, She said had the normal achy for 24 hrs, but then developed Vertigo a day later and has been miserable for a few days though maybe a little better today -- no history of Vertigo apparently.

I was absolutely perfectly happy being a lazy bum sitting at the computer, but stupid me decides he's going to do 20 minutes worth of 'work' while it's still very pleasantly cool and 30% humidity. That'll teach me -- lazy and unproductive is a much safer way to live.

Somebody earlier mentioned Bee Sting. Just got Yellow-Jacketed this afternoon and damn that's 100x worse than the vaccine. I only get stung maybe once a year, but always forget how much it hurts. I was cleaning up some bush/shrub trimming and felt a pain in my hand -- first few seconds...

Honestly, at 60yo if you've truly never had Chickpox, then that's likely far more dangerous than Shingles and I'd consider getting vaccinated for ChickenPox 1st just for that reason. I've read conflicting reports on non Immune folks whether they should get CP and Shingle vaccines or possibly...

A bit harder to do than you might imagine due to the relative lack of data. A quick look at some of the literature I can skim concerning Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) Historically the rate was taught to be around 5 per Million per year with conflicting data from country to country...

I don't remember parents or in-laws ever having an outbreak, but plenty of other folks. I will certainly get it at some point, just have to talk myself into it. 24hr after J&J -- pretty much nothing. I felt a little twinge in my left arm a couple time today and I had to remind myself I...

Wife got her 2nd Moderna 10 days ago -- 1st shot pretty minimal soreness, 2nd shot the day after fever/aches/HA/etc and slept most of the day, then fine. That pattern fits pretty much several of her work mates who got the 2 shot regimen. NC opened to pretty much everyone last week. I was...
