I’m watching The Magicians (SyFy) on Netflix. I know this isn’t to the taste of many poeple here, and it’s not my favorite show, but *wow* does it do great storytelling. Great and disruptive character arcs.
Also, it has time travel. So, sci-fi, with magic. :)
That was a very disappointing trilogy. I listened to the audiobooks assuming they were really good, like Hunger Games, given the big movie adaptations. Nope. A good idea squandered, with inferior storytelling. I wouldn’t waste your time.
I recommend The Expanse TV and books much more strongly.
I enjoyed Electric Dreams. It's not great, but it's not terrible. And there were one or two I found affecting. Unfortunately, it didn't do well enough to get a second season it appears.
And I'm finding that I like this new wave of anthology series (Electric Dreams. Black Mirror. Love Death Robots.)
Here’s a solid, but lesser known, sci-fi movie. The PKD short it’s based on is also decent.
The Adjustment Bureau (2011)
The affair between a politician and a contemporary dancer is affected by mysterious forces keeping the lovers apart.

Never got to watch Farscape. Was a cable show and was young and couldn’t afford cable. Now, it’s blu I think. But it’s hard to go back 20+ years for sci-fi. Especially if you’re seeing new vs watching an old favorite with nostalgia.
I didn’t see Earth Final Conflict. I’m also a bit bummed I wasn’t able to consistently watch Andromeda, back in the day and missed the later seasons.
I have belatedly started watching Black Mirror, which I’d call sci-fi. It’s...bleak.
I've only watched it once, during its original run. I've heard others say it hasn't held up well. Good to hear otherwise. I might try to rewatch eventually.
First, these low-budget Canadian sci-fi shows are so much fun! If you haven't watched Travelers, I consider it a must-see. So...Dark...
Yes. :)
It's a speculative sci-fi story grounded in character driven drama supported and influenced by a backdrop of solar politics, and factions with competing and conflicting goals. I'll argue that this is true, classic, "hard" sci fi. It posits a few scientific developments (global climate...
I can’t comprehend the view that’s there’s been no good sci-fi / fantasy / genre fiction since [pick your halcyon-colored prior decade]. It’s been an incredible couple decades for TV as a whole, and with that, there’s been delightful “genre” shows. I’ve watched at least one season of everything...
