Thanks for your impressions Dave. BTW, DVDbeaver has a great comparison of the old non-anamorphic R1 version and the R2 PAL version. To my eyes, the new R1 16x9 version looks very much like the R2 PAL from those screen-shots on that site.

That's a good deal. For $12.00 I'd definitely "RECOMMEND" this DVD. Those of you who get the opportunity to get an early-release of (both of) these titles (DPS and GMV)...please post your impressions of audio/video here to share with others as well. Your opinion/impressions are important and...

David, I meant "legacy" in the sense that I consider the laserdisc format a legacy (in the past) format (though my word placement may have made it appear an adjective for the owners...not the format). Exactly. and in that sense it's WAAAAY better than the crappy 4x3 lbxed disc R1 viewers...

Of course, I hope at least *someone* purchases this DVD so someone else can share their first-hand experience/impressions of the disc... :D
