What news about "Brothers Grimm"? Last time I checked, WB was having troubles getting that film restored.

I kinda think it'll be from a 35mm source. George Feltenstein said that they were going to use the same 35mm road show print that was released on VHS in the 90s for a DVD master but the color has faded significantly that it hiked up the restoration costs.

Feltenstein seems to be interested in restoring the film from the 35mm roadshow print, but the color is completely faded. I wonder how much it would cost to marry the color of the 4:3 road show copy with the faded elements like the Criterion "Mad Mad World" reconstruction?

I thought that more effort is needed before a "derivative work" could be copyrighted. (You know, colorizing a black-and-white movie, altering the soundtrack, even pan-and-scanning a movie?)

That's interesting. I have no idea why that credit wasn't reinserted on the roadshow VHS. On the general prints, there's a long gap of black screen in between the main titles and the first shot of the movie. I presume that was because the Camera 65 credit was removed.

At times, it seems to me that WB is using digital downloads as a dumping ground for dated masters.
