At the time that aired Disney was not a part of it and had no 4K content on iTunes. Since then they have been, and that included an email from Apple saying as much, which is about as official as I'm afraid you're gonna get...
In case it might be helpful to you I can tell you what I do -
I have bookmarked the search page on the CheapCharts website (not the app). Under "search filters" I have it set to "on sale," "sort by price," and "Movies Anywhere Only." Every Tuesday I just click that bookmark and browse through...
I'm going to have to agree to disagree as well. I have seen this movie about 172,568 times and I am deeply dissatisfied with this transfer.
I don't spend much time in the blu-ray forum so I haven't read that thread and don't know what other's complaints are, but for ME I just object to the...
Ken is right - Season 2 of Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone is absolutely available in 4K Dolby Vision (though not the original series).
Just for the record I have not said this. My posts were specifically about them having To Catch a Thief in 4K, not the service as a whole having it.
I literally just signed up for a 7 day trial of CBS All Access through Amazon Prime just to test this.
Here is the page with the TCAT artwork showing the UHD banner. Notice it says "included with your CBS All Access subscription," so you know I do have it.
But when you actually play it, the...
I'm telling you guys, respectfully, that CBS All Access does not offer To Catch a Thief in 4K.
Really.
Here is TCAT on CBS All Access playing HD...
And yes, watching through Apple Channels will show 4K if that is what you're watching...
...or if you are watching in HD, but Dolby Vision...
If you have the Apple TV app you don't need to be a subscriber to see what they have - just fire up the app and hit "Browse and Watch Clips" at the bottom.
They do not have "To Catch a Thief" in 4K.
That UHD designation is not for CBS All Access - it's for Amazon. Notice it also says X-Ray...
In case anybody is curious because it's something we talk about a lot and it remains a bit confusing...
I had "Psycho" in HD on iTunes. My MA account showed that I purchased it from Vudu in 2013* and owned it in HD.
I just did the gifting it to myself trick for $4.99 and my MA account now...
I think what he's saying is that the Extended Cut that is included as an extra with the Theatrical Cut is still only HD, while the Extended Cut that is sold separately is 4K...
It being the original unedited version we knew - what I'm talking about is if there is any new footage to replace the inserted stills...
(if you don't know the history of Lost Horizon, it's a long story)
I was hoping that since they put out a 4K version that they had found some more footage...
You are completely right.
My hand to god if you searched for "Superman" it didn't come up, but if you searched for "Superman The Movie" it did. Also, if you look under any of the actors or Richard Donner, it doesn't come up there, either. Thanks iTunes!
EDIT: ignore this post because it's completely wrong
The 2hr 31min cut isn't available on iTunes.
I think the confusion is because the one version they have is labeled as a "Special Edition." They might have put that on there because it includes the 3+ hour cut as an extra.
I still have Vertigo in 4K but Psycho only shows up in HD. The randomness of these changes is frustrating.
UPDATE: Hey @Osato I just signed out of my iTunes Store and iCloud accounts on my Apple TV and it changed my Psycho to 4K (when I access it through the ATV app, but not the iTunes Store...
