My expectations for what they can do are measured. I want one for a bedroom so I don't want to do full speakers. I'll try the Beam and the Arc and see if the Arc is worth the extra $$$.
All I want out of Apple right now is a HomePod version of this...

Something that isn't obvious to a newbie - if you hit the menu button it takes you back one page, but if you hold it it takes you all the way back to the menu.
The TV button can be programmed to do a number of things in settings (mine takes me to the TV app.
To move or delete apps long press...
I've never used my phone as a remote. Love the ATV remote, honestly...
But if that's what you like - from lock screen pull down control center, long press on the now playing pane in upper right corner, and select the TV you are currently playing. That will make the controls stay on your lock...
BTW - when one of the last tvOS 13 betas was released I had mentioned that I could no longer do a voice search. I realized that the update turned off Siri dictation. Once I turned it back on, all is well.
Over all, the latest tvOS 13 beta is running very solid for me.
I've been doing a little Google-Fu on the subject and I found a discussion from about a year ago where we definitely said to have it "on" to get DV to work, but your testing today shows you could only get DV with it set to "off."
Confusion continues...
See this is where these settings get confusing - if you go back a page (post 810) John was saying it should be "on" (which was what I was under the assumption it should be), but here you are saying that with it "on" you couldn't get HDR or DV to work. Heeellppppp! ;)
Robert,
Are those settings for Matching Dynamic Range Off and Matching Frame Rate On what is recommended or is that just what you did for testing? The proper use of those settings always confuse me...
The new tvOS beta is out - the Trailers app now works.
I was also having a hell of a time fast forwarding and rewinding through content, but that is now fixed as well.
I have my Match Content set to "off," which is highly recommended, and I definitely get Amazon HDR to play with it.
With it off, I get Fleabag and Mrs. Maisel without HDR, and The Widow and Jack Ryan with HDR.
I don't have a watchlist at all - just play from search results
If you're running tvOS 13 beta, the answer is yes yes yes yes and yes.
This latest version is so buggy I can barely use it. The Trailers app is part of it, yes.
