Ed - AFTER you are done.... That will be one SERIOUSLY broken in subwoofer... I don't suppose you will still have the STF-2 there for some blind testing ?
The logarithmic nature of sound can drive you nuts.... Looking at your example... let's say one dB-12 can "do" 115 dB at one meter... and one TV-12 "does" 117 dB ...And we use the idea that 2 TV-12's will be 4 dB louder than 2 dB-12's ... and that each doubling of co-located gets a 6 db increase...
Ed - Tom V. Suggested twin PB2-Ultras for our soon to be re-done basement theater room... Well, actually he also mentioned another B4+, but I mentioned wanting to try the Ultra driver... I was hoping twin PC-Ultras would suffice, the idea of getting two 200 pound subs down there seems like WORK...
Frank... Perhaps another B4... but the description Robb has given, plus Ed's review of the PB2 Ultra... can a B4+ and the PB2-Ultra co-exist ? .... could be fun to see... I wonder if she will buy that they are his and hers ... subwoofer...???...:)

Ed - That would be a LOT of backrubs...:emoji_thumbsup: ... She did later ask me if I needed a new subwoofer to go with the B4+... So I asked her if she was a patriotic American... she replies, of course, YES... So I reminded her that it was Karl Marx who said "From each according to his...

That was not geeky... no Star Wars reference is...:emoji_thumbsup: It could also make for an interesting intra-company face off... especially if Dr. Hsu does not get his new flagship done soon...

My wife has finally crossed over to the dark side... last night she mentioned "It is too bad your subwoofer people don't make a smaller sub that could be used as a matching endtable to this one"... So I innocently asked her if something... maybe 28 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 26 inches...

Frank - Your room does not sound like a disaster... In fact, part of the project I am working on (with several people) is room effect and how to work with software to minimize it. More to come...
Frank... How big is your room ? I am trying to picture 16 x 12 inch high output drivers... yikes ! You are going to be really happy with the B4+ ... and what the guys have been talking about regarding the finish on the PB2-Ultra also goes with the B4+ ... just fantastic !
Frank, you may rest assured the "when my wife thinks I have lost it" comment was a compliment....:emoji_thumbsup: Ed... You make a great point (what makes these subwoofers tick)... I am also taking some time in my travels to listen to some other subwoofers... thus far, the list includes...
Frank... two things. 1. I think you will love the sound of your B4+, like the PB2-Ultra, it takes the sonics up a notch, but does so through different engineering. When you are hitting 115 dB peaks, and the cabinet is not vibrating... 2. Whenever my wife thinks I have lost it, I tell her...

PB2-Ultra Vs. The B4+... It will be about the First of september before a review of the B4+ will be done... I will be mirroring a lot of methodology that Ed has used in his reviews, to try to keep things constant... Of course, I am probably going to post a link of the review on a certain...

In case noone noticed... Mark Seaton had his Contrabass subwoofer tested by Ultimate A/V ... where objectively it was among the top subwoofers tested. It delivered roughly 115 dB outside... at 20 Hz/one meter... Impressive performance, to say the least. Ed, you just got Kudos from Mark...
