Ah, the very-short-lived glory days when Sony put BD, 3D and 4K in the same package!
Agree on the 3D quality of "GB2016" - it's a blast. As much as I love 4K, I opt for the 3D when I watch that film...
Not a valid comparison. Of course it'd be absurd to make a story about one very specific demographic "diverse", but movies like "Ghostbusters" or "Star Trek" can enjoy "diverse" casts without negative ramifications...
I really thought the movie was fairly consistent. It never quite becomes great, but I think it's solidly "pretty good" from start to finish.
I'd be hard-pressed to cite any moments that I think flop - it never produces the great laughs of the original but it stays on an even enough keel...
BTW, I guess all the "G84" actors play different characters, but it also seemed possible that they played the same characters with different identities - ie, they all tried to put their ghostbusting days behind them and seek anonymity.
This remains unclear. The Annie Potts character sure...
It kills me to say this... but I agree with Tino! ;)
I went into the movie with high hopes but tempered expectations. I love the 1984 film and in no way expected it to be that good - though even if the 2016 flick was "objectively" as good, it wouldn't seem so because it can't compete with the...
Woof - I think "Fridays" was terrible! Liked it when I was a kid, but looking back now, it was pretty awful.
"SNL" has its ups and downs but has many more "ups" than "Fridays" ever generated...
This is the dumbest thing I've ever read, and you must be the biggest moron to ever walk the earth! You should be condemned to a life in a small box buried under the ocean for such stupidity!!!
;)
If you go on YT, I'm sure you can find it.
Though I admit I hated the trailer for "The Heat" partly because it ran forever! As I recall, the movie was supposed to open in February or March, so trailers started to run a few months before that.
However, the studio didn't want it to compete with...
Can't disagree that it's a bad trailer, and I can't claim I'm truly optimistic that it'll be a good movie.
I just hang my hat on the crappiness of the trailer for "The Heat"! :D
Am I excited about the 2016 "Ghostbusters"? No, but I still have some faith in those involved that it'll be enjoyable.
The trailer for "The Heat" was awful - the movie looked terrible based on that ad - but it ended up being pretty darned funny.
Feig and McCarthy aren't an unassailable team...
