DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

According to the commentary (I think? or the documentary), Lucas WANTED SS to direct Jedi but couldn't due to union issues - by that time, GL had quit the various guilds and couldn't hire SS...

DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

I discussed this in my review: "One also gets the impression Lucas essentially directed Jedi. At the commentary’s start, he mentions that he played a more prominent role than typical for an executive producer and likened it to functioning that way on a TV; he implies that Jedi...

I heard it when I moved closer to my speakers. It's definitely there, but it definitely doesn't affect everyone the same way. I wonder if the people most bothered by it have their surrounds set at a higher volume level than those who don't...

DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

Yeah, that happens to me too. It tells me it's a problem with DirectX or something like that. I've tried to fix it to no avail, so I gave up - it's just not important enough for me to waste lots of time on it. Annoying, though!

DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

Poor Van's having to deal with some pissy questions! "Is there any possibility that after the initial release of the DVDs, there'll be a second release a few months down the line with even more goodies included, a la the "Lord of the Rings" DVDs? My husband bought the DVD for the...

Actually, I think those listed for $50 - maybe even a little less, but I believe that was the retail price. The original widescreen LDs from the early 90s listed for $70, though...

DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

It's three great movies plus a disc of supplements for $70 - that sounds like a good value to me!

DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

That makes no sense that they wouldn't give you a refund. If you bought the thing and then returned it, they'd refund your money, so there's no reason not to do so as a presale. You didn't enter into an irrevocable contract to buy the thing. Go back and try again - bitch if they won't give you a...

DVD Review *** Official HTF REVIEW & Discussion Thread: Star Wars Trilogy, pt. 1

Addressing the controversy is fine - it's necessary, really. Being obnoxious and rude about it isn't, though, and that's how this review reads. He totally attacks those who don't like the changes - whatever credibility he had goes out the window with his nasty attitude. DVD Review was...
