Not totally, WETA did a small portion. Most of the effects were done by SPI...Sony Picture Imageworks. Which I don't believe exists anymore. Zemeckis was a staunch supporter of PJ early on, hence his "throwing a bone" to WETA after The Frighteners. I have no idea what they did for the film...
