Interesting. A friend of mine who got a booster last week said he thought they might have put Ex-lax in the shot based on the problems he encountered afterward.

This mess has gone on for so long, my youngest aged into the appropriate age range before the vaccine was finally approved. The vaccine was made available about two weeks after he turned 5.

According to the state's website, they basically have: https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/index.html I fall into the category of eligible to get it based on where I work, but it's also been 8 months since my second dose so I also fall into the category of "six months since the last dose"...

I'm getting confused about the expectations of booster shots. I'm coming up on the eight month mark, but it's been a while since they've said anything about booster shots for folks in relatively good health under a certain age.

I feel like this is a detail that the "but the vaccinated people can catch it too so what's the point" crowd is missing.

To be honest, it's hard to say because they made me shove it up there myself. And no one seemed to be happy to be there that day, probably because it was a Sunday morning at Patient First. (COVID came back negative, but I had pneumonia.)

I was vaccinated long before I was required to by work, but even if I wasn't, it would be a pretty easy decision for me. Those two shots were nothing. But man, shoving the swab up the nose sucks.

The hypothetical is that they'd send someone to prison for faking a vaccine card, and then start championing for them to be released so they didn't get COVID in prison.

That's probably not too much of a deterrent for some folks, because they'll look at the push last year to let a bunch of inmates free so they wouldn't catch COVID in prison. Heck, even I'm getting a chuckle from that circular logic trap.

EXACTLY! I've probably lamented that very point in this thread before. If only there were some sort of template for cards that could fit in a wallet . . .

I read an article with a football player who was basically saying that they didn't feel like they needed the vaccine because they've gone this long without getting COVID, and he'll worry about treatment when he does get sick. Maybe we need an education campaign about what preventative medicine is.

I haven't been paying that close attention, but aren't there quite a number of colleges requiring the vaccine to attend?

I have to admit, I was surprised to see so many retailers coming out still enforcing their own mask mandates. Especially when most of the signs I saw walking into stores said "Due to local/state requirements, wear a mask". Now that the state has dropped the mask mandate, it's actually more...

Well, Walmart just dropped their mask mandate. And there's really nothing they can do to enforce the honor system. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cdc-guidelines-walmart-mask-vaccinated-shoppers-workers/

I like that theory. Every once in a while, I get slightly paranoid that mine didn't work because I didn't have a lot of reaction, and because the jab was so quick and painless, I wondered if it even went in. Thank goodness I had the extremely sore arm after the first shot, otherwise I'd be...

I will say that Krispy Kreme helps makes the mask a little more bearable. Eat a donut and put the mask on, the mask traps the donut scent around your face.

I'm already two weeks past my second shot, but I'm still getting e-mails and texts from the Dept of Health. I registered through their site prior to finding a hospital that was basically doing walk-ins with proper credentials. The e-mail says to update your record even if you've already gotten...

Following shot #2 on Friday, I had a bit of a headache most of Saturday and Sunday (gone by dinnertime). But I seem to have developed a mild sore throat, if I can even call it that. But that could also be coincidental timing.

Got my second shot this afternoon. I think I spent more time in the parking garage than in the hospital itself. My arm started hurting a lot sooner this time. Although now that I think about it, I got the shot about an hour earlier this time. I've heard all sort of stories about reactions...

I know a couple of people who had COVID prior to getting the vaccine and they got the significant side effects with the first shot. Which makes sense, because that would be the second time their bodies were fighting it.

It's funny you say that, because a lot of people I know who don't want the vaccine aren't accepting that we are in the middle of one of those scientific advances. So they don't trust it based on how fast it was developed. "Good vaccines take years to develop." My response is that prior to...

Got the first shot of Moderna today. A pretty efficient set up, once I was able to get there. Didn't even really feel the needle going in. I was a little paranoid for a while, not sure if I had actually gotten any and that any arm pain was just in my head. But a couple hours later during...

Sneezing with the mask has been the worst. My initial instinct is to take the mask off, which obviously goes against the very reason for the mask. Then I put my hand or arm up to cover my mouth, and then pull it back down when I remember that the mask is already covering it. And then there's...
