It's still Disney product. The only difference is that they outsourced the production. And it just so happens to be another studio instead of a third party.
But Universal still has their rewards program even those SDS makes the discs.
Finally got a reply from Universal -- they say the digital version of Oppenheimer has been made eligible for rewards points, but not the physical version. However, they still credited me with 1000 points for Oppenheimer.
Follow ups....
Apparently Sony likes hiding information. I finally found the "eligible movie" list buried in the app, and sure enough, Annie is the only movie from the CC3 set on there. Now I just have to figure out exactly how many of my Movie Buff passes are actually valid and redeemable at...
Rewards programs being funny....
First, Sony -- slow on registering movies for points and the Buff pass.
I bought the Columbia Classics volume 3 set and redeemed all of the digital codes. Being a 6 movie set, it should be enough to get its own completed Movie Buff pass. So far, Sony Rewards...
I think Universal has changed how they award points over time so it could depend on when the disc was released. I think there was a phase when there was a separate code on the back of the digital code sheet for points. Then they went with receipt upload. But recently they have made it so a...
Rule #1 - variant covers don't make sense.
Marvel regularly does themed variant covers. Sometimes it's across all of their books in a given month, and sometimes it's more staggered. The theme rarely has anything to do with the actual content of the books.
In this case, the theme is...
Seeing folks at other sites with the same issue, getting the exact same form letter response. So if it's a system error, it's a big one and not of the "slipping through the cracks" variety.
It just seems like the system could be much simpler overall. The rewards are hooked up through Movies...
Universal is being annoying.
They don't actually put codes in new discs anymore, relying on receipt submissions. I bought Studio 666 on blu-ray from Target.com. There's no receipt per se, the closest thing I have is a PDF of the invoice from the website. Apparently, that's not good enough...
You can't just use the code directly on itunes. You have to go to the redeemdigitalmovie.com site or whatever it's called and use the code to generate another code for itunes. I've used that method to get a 4K digital copy from a blu-ray code for all three Santa Clause movies and Frozen 2...
Turns out Sony sent an electronic gift card. Probably delayed because I redeemed after hours yesterday. It showed up around noon, although it did initially go to the Junk e-mail folder.
Sony Rewards is having a "sale" on gift cards. In the three and a half years that I've been a member, I've only accumulated 1440 points, so I just now had enough to get a gift card thanks to the lower point requirements. I redeemed for a $10 Amazon gift card but it hasn't come through yet...
So I just clicked on the link from my Sony movie buff code e-mail that I got in February but haven't redeemed yet. It's giving me a different list of movies:
-Christine
-St. Elmo's Fire
-The Last Dragon
-Steel Magnolias
-My Girl
-Big Daddy
-Joe Dirt
-Christmas with the Kranks
-Ultraviolet
-The...
I can confirm this list. I used the method Todd posted from an e-mail I got on February 26.
Not sure what I'll get as the one that looks the most interesting to me is Passengers, which I already got as my very first Movie Buff, and the only one where they sent me a disc.
I gave up on receipts for Universal. I rarely buy movies in a store anyway, so most of my attempts were trying to get Amazon printouts or screenshots to work. I think I might have gotten one to work. I think I also got a lot of rejections because they were "fuzzy".
I didn't jump on the digital train until the last week of 2017, just long enough after MA launched to miss out on SD to HD upgrades. Plus it took me a little longer to figure out the disc based copies.
I did get some upgrades from the original Paramount versions of the early MCU movies since...
You were likely as well informed as you could be at the time about digital copies. I think the entire concept changed dramatically and somewhat quickly from what the studios originally envisioned. I believe the original digital copy of Monster U was the kind that required an extra disc and...
