I'm assuming what they meant to say was that when multiple retailers processed the "refund", it caused Universal's system to see that as multiple transactions and subtract points several times.
At least that makes more sense than their Wal-Mart explanation. I'm pretty sure Vudu consolidated...
Someone on another board pointed out that recently, Sex in the City ($19.99), Batman the Animated Series ($14.99) and now Smallville ($14.99) have all been marked down to ridiculous prices on itunes.
While the Batman price was due to "Batman Day", I think overall, it's all part of WB's 100th...
Funny you mention that because the DVD sets for the first 4 or 5 seasons were huge. Probably the thickness of 3 regular DVD cases, and even bigger than the Buffy and X-Files sets coming out at the same time. I bought some thing 6-disc cases and downloaded some custom art to save shelf space...
I was doing quite a bit of digging on the price history of Twilight Zone at Vudu a couple of weeks ago when they had the complete series for $50. All of my research showed that while itunes has previously sold the complete Twilight Zone for under $30, Vudu had never gone below $50.
Naturally...
It is available to convert from DVD to SD digital.
And it looks like the resource I was looking at earlier might not quite be up to date. I think it's possible to scan the DVD bar code and pay $5 to get HDX.
But the important part of the listing is here:
There's no HDX option to buy (or rent).
Sometimes, a movie that's normally SD-only might be available in HDX via disc-to-digital. From what I'm seeing from my usual sources of this kind of information, I don't see any evidence that this is...
Also on sale at Vudu.
I bit on TOS at $25 there. I waffled for a bit as I have several options to watch it on subscription services, but figured that Paramount would start pulling it back to their own service. Kind of funny that I saw the news about the Star Trek license with Amazon Prime...
Movies Anywhere is doing their "biggest offer ever" for the next week or so, where if you purchase a movie from any of the studios, you can get a free one from a limited set of choices. So if you buy a WB movie, you have 4 or 5 WB movies to choose from. If you buy a Disney movie, you get a...
Is Microsoft sometimes slow to adjust prices? I was looking at getting Good Morning Vietnam anyway with the gift card I got from redeeming reward points. But MS still has it at $17.99 while other retailers have it at $7.99. No sense paying extra even with fake money.
The only version of Disc to Digital that works anymore is scanning the UPC on a mobile device.
Looking at some of the lists available online, Duck Soup is the only one of the films available on D2D, and only by virtue of scanning a DVD UPC, thus costing $5 for a HD copy.
Disc to Digital still works. However it doesn't get along as well with Apple products. I think you have to go through the website on a browser there instead of the actual app.
Disney isn't part of it, and the majority of Fox titles have been taken out of it too. So the selection is going...
My goal is to have my digital collection match my physical collection as closely as possible. So if I have a disc that didn't come with a code, I'll hunt the digital copy down.
But....I prefer not to use real money for digital. Most of what I buy digitally is via giftcards that I obtain by...
