Thanks David, could Song is Born be with Paramount? They did a wonderful job with Kaye's The Court Jester...his catalog might be there as well...hard to say anymore!!
Balls of Fire 1941 has the same team of Stanwych & Cooper - I'd love to see a fulllrestoration of that film as well as the remake with Kaye and Mayo 1948 A Song is Born (a little more musical).
Agreed it is a fun series, it reminds me in a way, of the 70s Hanna Barbera cartoon, inch High Private Eye
But better, more involved...maybe Land of the Giants is more appropriate?
I had never seen it but pre ordered it along with a new 2- fer set in the steamliner series of dvds. watched...
Agreed Bob, although TASL was released by two companies, little was done to restor the episodes and neither truly did justice to the series. Here is s snipit from the WP data sheet:
"The complete series of 30 episodes were released as a DVD boxed set in the UK by Network DVD in 2004. Of the 14...
Thanks so much David, your willingness to support this new company says alot. I added my funds to support the project and I have talked it up on other forums. I am a big fan of Thunderbean and the quality of works coming out from them over the years. And thier involovment in this project speaks...
Just indulged in a double ClassicFlix movie night with Hi Diddle Diddel & International Lady. I had puchesed 21 Beacon St, but wanted these two titles for a while!! Both HDD & IL had WW2 all over it, and so loads of spy stuff with IL and sailor on leave for HDD, and on the latter was amazed to...
it's sad that so many of Ladd's later day titles are so hard to find, and when you do they're in shoddy dvd collections from wornout elements. The Black Knight, Botany Bay and my favorite Iron Mistress are still MIA for restorations and BD upgrades?
I'm sure that there are techiques and software to help make adjustments to the image and soundtracks. I'm not looking for gold, just a little silver would be nice ~
With options like Kick Starter, it just takes someone that has the rights to the materials and setting up an account, and then beating the bushes for supporters that want to see these films truly saved and updated for future generations. Offering dvds and blurays editions while progressing...
It's even more telling of your persona, when rather than understanding the statement for what it is, you feel the need to pontificate and smugly chastise me for that statement? The fact that you feel the need to do this speaks volumes. Have a nice day ;)
Got cha' ~ lookiing forward to it, it truly is a time capsule. William Powell will always be the Thin Man to me...and Elisabeth Taylor so young is a treat as well. Thanks David, for all that you do!!
The Clip in this size looks and sounds impressive. This is one of my favorite films and the cast is great!! My only question is why not a blueray rather than dvd format?
David, I would like to commend you and your team for all the wonderful work done, into this amazing collection of shorts and the fun barrel of bonus materials that you have assembled here for your release The Little Rascals: Complete Centenial Edition.
It seems that some are tossing the baby...
There is a BD from Germany but is hard to find and stay away from the Spanish BD, it appears to be a bootegged edition and if you can get the German version you will be happier, the only avviate on Euro discs is that all the bonus features are not in English, or should I say RARLY are they in...
