It's all official now and a slightly altered version of the trailer is up and we get a physical release in September! And Theatrical showings as well!

The head of the Restoration Team for Star Trek the motion picture directors Edition announced that the new version in 4k will come to Paramount Plus on April 5th! That's just 15 days from now. They also released a trailer on YouTube of the director's Edition in high-definition and it looks...
Okay so the official press release for the 4 movie Set indicates all four movies have been restored from the original elements, all four movies will include digital copies, All 4 movies will have Dolby vision, Star Trek the motion picture will have an isolated score of Jerry Goldsmith's music...
Well certainly they want to sell us all 10 movies that haven't been released in 4k so assuredly the other six are coming. I see people all over getting panicky that the other two original cast movies are going to somehow be forgotten by Paramount. A Canadian site has stated that the pre-orders...
They will update that page when they get more info. But since there is at least one live pre-order they put that up in the meantime. Down to $79.97 at Bull Moose.
Paramount never ever announced and then canceled Star Trek II on 4K disc that was just pure speculation by everybody at the time it was announced that the movie had been remastered a second time and had been given HDR at the time of the Blu-ray release. A lot of websites irresponsibly added it...
They use that same picture as a placeholder for all their new pre-orders until they get the artwork. I guess the owner likes Paul Simon a lot. As for the phrasing that's just the way they phrase things. They're real good company they just happen to be a regional retailer in New England that does...
Yeah probably 100% unlegit. Even though it has a UPC number and a MSRP. I guess without that cover photo it's completely unlegit. And the exact same item popping up last month on Amazon France and another French retailer also unlegit.
Pretty sure Paramount knows that it's going to be discounted sometime before release date. Bull Moose just goes ahead and does it early whereas Amazon usually starts at the MSRP and goes down gradually as release date approaches
With the opening price being just $82 I almost wonder if they will include blue Rays at all. A couple of their recent 4K releases have not included Blu-ray discs. Days of Thunder is one that I can think of off the top of my head.
Noted. But the pre-orders that went up in France two and a half weeks ago (and we're taking down within 48 hours because they were premature) did indicate new special bonus features. Not saying that it's a fact as it may have been a misprint but it's giving me a little bit of cause for hope
Okay now it's real! Bull Moose has a live pre-order for the first four Star Trek movies in UHD!! Only $82 which maybe sounds like a lot to some people but $20 a piece sounds reasonable to me. I hope it has some new features and hopefully deleted scenes but most of all I hope they all look and...
According to the Star Trek the motion picture Appreciation Society over at Facebook.......
.... it absolutely would be a secret that they were working on the director's Edition even once it had begun.
I don't know why they keep saying that over there at that Facebook group but they insist that...
Now some people are saying that he was referring to Simply the musical score being remixed into Atmos. That seems odd that they would remix the score into Atmos and then do what? -- re-release it again? I mean the musical score has been released multiple times. Seems pretty odd that instead of...
But he did specifically mention Atmos which indicates they are remixing the soundtrack as opposed to just the score. I've not heard of movie scores being mixed in Atmos
So do you suppose that there is still the "social media buzz" out there about STTMP Director's Cut in 4K a month after the one panel that spoke about it?
It's kind of absurd to pretend that they were looking for some ongoing social media talk when everybody gets interested for a few days and...
But do they start by remastering the Trek catalog on disc -- or do they wait until there is a new movie product to tie it into?
And that will be years from now even if they start a movie project now.
I read the paper back. That seems like a long long time ago. I also remember seeing the cover of the novelization for Wrath of Khan before the movie came out and thinking "he doesn't look much like Khan with that white hair.
I'm not on social media either and it took me a while to find it as well-- I didn't just find it straight away out of any kind of skill!
And I kind of find it ridiculous that a major Studio is waiting to decide whether or not to restore a classic movie by an Academy Award winning director (of...
Actually they did post on Twitter several mentions of the 40th anniversary Motion Picture panel. And there was Zero about the restoration there was Zero about 4K there was Zero about anything new all they did was talk about what a troubled production the motion picture was back in the day. Which...
So today's event is just an anniversary celebration by the people originally involved. That doesn't sound very likely as a place where it will be announced. So everybody has been saying that this convention is the place where it might be announced but really no specifics on where or when an...
