Good point.
I read somewhere recently that we may be wearing masks forever, even after the pandemic.
To that I say...What is the easiest way to suicide myself?
Those that say working with masks isn't an issue, don't work in 90-100 degree non climate controlled building for 10 hours- with...
Ironic that most companies that treat sick people like dirt when they stay home, are the same ones promoting physical wellness programs. Some with a dedicated workout room they would like you to use before work (stretch, warm ups) to stay in good health. Yet they would love the entire...
Sorry to say that will never happen....in our lifetime. Sick days will always be frowned upon by most every business. Most giving "guilt trips" or worse.
I will never forget my worst experience "calling in sick"(I averaged about 2 sick days a year) I had a fever of 102 ached all over, could...
I worked retail, and I remember calling in sick was never really an option(Toys R Us)If you did, you were a bad person. Once had an accident at work with 14 stitches, manager said, "when you are done at the med center come back, and finish your shift". I had three hours left...seriously?
My niece works ar Target. Saturday, she was working with a very ill manager. Yesterday, another manager called her in the office and told her the manager she worked with on Saturday tested positive for the Corona Virus.
That makes perfect sense, and I think scientists will be working diligently to combat any future life threatening, wide spreading viruses. Some type of vaccine with the groundwork already being set, and studied currently.
Yes, no threat, in the future when either a vaccine has been developed, or the virus will simply run its course and it will no longer exist--like so many other virus that have come, and gone.
So basically "socially distancing" will be the one drastic change you mention. And with no threat of a wide spreading virus in the future, you think people will remain "on alert" at all times say a year from now, two?
That is truly a "sky is falling" scenario. And it paints a dim picture of...
The opposite here. Crazy busy at the grocery store (shelves nearly empty, the worse Ive seen it) Tons of traffic. I think the "stay at home" order here in Michigan put people in another type of panic mode. At least in my area.
Kind of scary. I'm 46, and noticed I have had respiratory difficulty since Wednesday. Same thing, labored breathing for no reason. Especially when I lay down on my back, it feels like a weight on my chest.
I haven't noticed any other symptoms, which is why I'm not more afraid.
Just went to two stores, and dog food sold out. I'm starting to worry.
Checked Amazon yesterday, everything was fine, but now many of the main brands of canned food are now sold out.. Checked E-Bay, and Amazon sellers-- and sure enough people scalping the stuff at two to three times normal...
Tom Hanks quarantine meal--- toast with Vegemite….a TON of Vegemite.
I have always liked Tom Hanks, but he has now proven himself as one hardcore individual. Eating that amount of Vegemite on toast, I have nothing but respect for that man. That is brave!
I'm surprised at that behavior at Disneyworld.
Going to a near empty movie theater is one thing, being packed in like sardines with thousands of other people in this climate just seems selfish, and hollow to me. Come on people, we're better than that!
I know. I think we are already taking the right steps in combating the threat by sanitization, and respecting the boundaries of how we interact with other people currently. That overall is the best defense.

Noticed the (non essential) stores around town today were packed. Like before Christmas busy, As well as a movie theater, and most resteraunts.. Guess people just think the weekend is still the weekend, and not letting the fear phase them. I was shocked. My local Wal-Mart wasn't very busy...
I don't like the cryptic, and vague E-Mails I've been getting like:
Dear Reader,
We’re living through turbulent times together. Our booksellers are your neighbors, your friends and family. Your stories are our stories, and we know how resilient our communities are.
Sincerely,
The Booksellers...
Bottom line is that I am not in any way worried about this for myself, but am concerned about my elderly parents. So it is a double edged sword thinking about it.
I have nothing more to say about it so I'm out of this thread!
