Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

This was my favorite TV DVD series set. In the process of moving to a new home, it was in my basement in a box. The basement flooded, and destroyed the set warping the cardboard. It was the only DVD series that was destroyed, almost like life was trying to teach me a lesson about caring too...

"A Bullet for McGarret" from season 2 is one of those episodes that escaped my memory completely...until I watched it again, then I realized why. I hated every minute of this stupid concept episode. I even had an audience, and the room was dead quiet when it finished. I thought Oh, any...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I just watched "To Hell with Babe Ruth" I loved the concept of the story, and it was very well acted, but the elephant in the room is the 2 older white men playing Japanese. It seriously distracted, and took me out of the episode, and trust me I love Mark Lenard (Urko from TV's Planet of the...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

http://www.jamesmacarthur.com/ From the man himself: Why did you leave Hawaii Five-O before it ceased production? Do you ever wish you'd stayed on for the final season? Quite frankly, I grew bored. After Leonard Freeman died, the series began to stagnate. It had started out very fresh and...

I'd gladly buy the region 2 BD set, and watch with you guys. I think that Magnum P.I. Might be right in my wheelhouse of classic tv.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I hate to say it, but I would go for the "dumpster bin" current set for $85---I would urge you to buy the complete series from a few years ago, as it is my favorite DVD set ever with discs housed in beautiful coffee table style book packaging(see picture below) but the price has become...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

It is pretty good, although season 9 episodes are more memorable to me for some reason--now you have me wanting to re-watch the tenth season. The only episode that sticks out from sn. 10 to me is the last episode, and damn it is powerful.

No, you got everything. A poorly written ep. for sure:thumbsdown:

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I couldn't agree with you more. In my honest opinion he is the most underrated actor of the 70's(and 60's and 80's). Mark Lenard deserved so much more than bit parts, and guest starring roles. He was an amazing talent with a strong presence. I read, and listened to nearly every interview I...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

Season 9 of H50 is a far, far better season than 8. One of my favorites of the entire run.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I think season 9 had some very good episodes. "Tour De Force, Killer Aboard" was a nail biter with Amanda McBroom returning as Sandi Welles. What a good actress she is, and she makes H5O fresh (not that it ever feels stale.....well very rarely) because of the her chemistry, and dynamic with...

I loved this episode as well. It is my favorite of season 8.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts about season 8 Alan. Although it is one of my least favorites, there are still good episodes throughout it. Season 9 was more satisfying, but I will chat with you about that when you reach it.

And I love those scenes. The passion he has for justice in some episodes is just so powerful it astonishes me. He is the man, he knows it and if someone is guilty chances are Steve McGarret knows it before they think he does.

Another thing I really appreciate about the series is the music. Season 3 has some really memorable melodic music--very catchy-like in season three episode "Ten thousand diamonds and a heart" and the dramatic shift to season 6 like "Anybody can Build a Bomb" which is mostly electronic Analogue...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I'm not really sure why but "the Banzai Pipeline" from season 6 is one of my favorites of the entire series. It is a pretty gripping episode, and one that pound for pound can hold its own against any of the great 70's cinema classic crime movies of that time. I know nowdays it is pretty...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

This is one of the main reasons I claimed seasons 5 through 7 are the "sweet spot" of the series. Brilliant episodes like this with writing that is just so damn good.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

"Paniolo" from season 3 still stands as one of the worst episodes on Hawaii-Five O. I watched it again to try at some redeeming qualities. Nothing. A waste of the great Royal Dano, and awesomely beautiful locations are just wasted on a nothing character who it just so happens....has no...

That is too bad because it is such a great episode. It would have been the best Filer ep, if he agreed to do it.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

My brother just opened his complete series set. He was amazed at the quality of the packaging "like a high end coffee table book set" I wish every loved classic tv series on DVD were treated as nice as this set with such wonderful packaging. Little House On The Prairie could use packaging as...

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

My brother has his favorite show of all time "The Fugitive" on DVD. I coaxed him into buying H5-0(he has never seen an episode), and told him "Be prepared to have a new all time favorite TV show".

Yes they are all available in glorious HD, and the streaming episodes(in HD) do look better than SD-DVD. But if Mill Creek ever get their mitts on this series you can expect no subtitles. And that alone is a deal breaker to some.

I think everyone that likes Hawaii Five-O should be given the chance to view it. And it should have been included on the DVD set.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

Well I'm not happy it is excluded from the second season. But there is nothing that can be done to change the mind of a studio that holds true to their word to never re-broadcast, or release that particular episode.

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I watched the terrible quality episode on YouTube a couple years ago. It was not a very good episode, so I don't feel I'm missing out on the DVD set.

Am I upset that the beautiful HD transfer of the series is only available downrezzed to standard definition on disc, while streaming gets HD? Yes:angry:

Original Hawaii Five-O Complete Series Package

I'm not going to mince words. Hawaii Five-O is the best television program of the 70's. I can't even begin to explain how perfect it can be. Beautiful scenic Hawaii locations, wonderful guest stars, stories that are(truth be told) better than 70's cinema of the same token, a cast you can...
