Not familiar with Zenith Plasmas but some Plasmas brands (like Pioneer and Panasonic) have "POWER SAVE MODE" which decreases the brightness of the screen to reduce power consumption. There's also a peak limiter - Suppresses image contrast (peak brightness). Check the manual.
