UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ -The Godfather(s) 50th Anniversary Restoration -- in 4k UHD

I’m one of those people who Robert Crawford said is being quiet, because I like the 2022 4K, but I also understand the issues as well, and RAH does raise a lot of great points. He worked on the restoration in 2007, so I get both sides so I am remaining very neutral, because I do like the 2022...

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ -The Godfather(s) 50th Anniversary Restoration -- in 4k UHD

Agreed, I know we are talking about The Godfather in 4K, but I never bought the fact that he deliberately framed Emperor or Tucker for the 2:1 ratio like he said. The original DVD of Tucker had a lot of panning and scanning.

So by that rationale no one should have complained when Storaro wanted Apocalypse Now framed and panned and scanned at an aspect ratio of 2.00, even though it was shot and presented in 2.35. Storaro’s wishes were for it to be 2.00, but now Coppola has gone back and signed off on it being the...

I just rewatched the first film and I am coming away with enjoying it a bit more. Like RAH said, same great film, new great taste. And it is not a disaster. Still a good release. Watching Part 2 now and I am noticing that one is even better.

Thank you Robert for sort of talking me down. That's where a lot of my confusion is coming from.

So I am confused here. RAH, do you support this work? I know you said that you do, or not. Reading this thread is getting me upset, especially since other expert "reviewers" like Bill Hunt are calling this probably the best release of the year. Bluray.com is praising it. I want to, but the grain...

Robert. I agree you you on this restoration and it looks fantastic, however I do have a question about the grain and hardly anyone is mentioning this. Did they add artificial grain? In a number if shots the grain seems like it freezes and moves and creates an outline with the body or an object.
