    Horror/Gore DVD Shopping PART II

I thought the first half of Jeepers Creepers was great. It played out like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and very well done. The second half left a "Bad Taste" in my mouth. I didn't really enjoy it that much.

I wonder which ratio it is. With the new "widescreen transfer" that the Book Of The Dead version will have, I wonder if it will be the correct ratio. I mean, I know that the full frame version isn't correct, but how will the widescreen version be if the ratio is 1.37:1?

word-up Greg! I agree. Also, I find it bizzare that these horror films (like the SEs and LEs of Argento's films and now this film) are getting DTS tracks with them. If you're going to ask me why I think it's weird, well... I have no answer. I just do.

I noticed that AB is going to be re-releasing Fulci's Zombie at $14.98. Has anyone heard when? Also, anyone own it already and would recommend it (and why)? Thank you in advance. UPDATE From DVD MANIAC:

When I looked at the Peter Jackson Biography/Filmography on the Bad Taste LE DVD, his "selected" filmography did NOT include Forgotten Silver. I wonder why he/they would leave out this one film. Anyone else know or wonder why?

Julie, I didn't realize Forgotten Silver was that far along on his Filmography. my bad.

Max Y, I too picked up Bad Taste LE and loved it. Your question as to whether it was Jackson's first though got me thinking. Was this his first film or was Forgotten Silver? From the sound of the documentary, it sounds like his first (Bad Taste, that is).

Well, I got my new copy of OPERA the other day and it came with the MOONLIGHTING DVD. Anyone else get this DVD with their new OPERA? Or maybe a different DVD? I will be picking up BAD TASTE today as well. Now when is that SE of Dead-Alive (my fave PJ horror film [especially since LOTR will be...

I too have The Beyond LE Tin and absolutely love this movie. I haven't seen much of Fulci, but good god this movie is awesome. The whole opening is great and the end... phenominal! I just had to reiterate that feeling for this movie. ------------------ "People = Sh*t" - Slipknot My Home...

My wife is going to be bringing home Ginger Snaps home to rent in about 1.5 hours. Is this movie any good? If yes or no, why? I would really like a lil info as fast as you can before I watch it. ------------------ "I was born to murder the world." -Nix (Lord of Illusions) My Home Page...

I happened to see a lot of movies at the same theater this summer (Jurassic Park 3, Tomb Raider, POTA, ect.) and every time I went to a movie they had the From Hell trailer. I saw it so much that I refuse to see it. Maybe it's Jonny Depp, maybe it's Heather Gram, but I just couldn't possibly see...

I just picked up the Demons/Demons 2 2-pack. I hope to watch it soon. Though many may not agree with me, I actually enjoyed the Stendhal Syndrome. I thought it was a nice twist and that scene with the bullet through the mouth... wonderful! Anyway, I too am pleased with this thread because of my...

I find it interesting that Bruiser and Dario Argento: An Eye for Horror are comming out on DVD at the same time. Well, maybe not so much as interesting as, "hey, I can pick up two or more dvds this week." Well, this was really a weak reply. ------------------ "I was born to murder the...

Again, I LOVE Lord of Illusions and yes, Nix is an awesome character. I am curious though, why would D'mour (or however you spell his name) be in this movie when he was originally introduced in Everville (and possibly The Great and Secret Show, it's been a while and I can't remember). Anyway...

I often see the "uncut" version of Lord of Illusions on store shelves. Is the substance (story, scenes) different from the VHS copy? ______________________________________ Sam, I am a huge Barker fan and Lord of Illusions is one of my top three faves. As far as the VHS Vs. DVD goes, get the...

    Horror/Gore DVD Shopping PART II

The Forsaken I absolutely hated this movie except for the opening. I thought it was very cool to hear the sounds and watch a girl in the shower washing blood off. Then when she turns to the camera and looks creepy, that is cool and artistic. The rest of the movie was typical crap. Better crap...

My two cents and what-not: 1. I already have Bad Taste on DVD. There is another release? 2. I think Lucio "Godfather of Gore" Fulci has a more direct approach to horror vs. Argento's around the bush approach. I love them both. 3. Though I own the Suspiria LE DVD, I actually first saw this...
