Well... I *did* do *two* rather large (8+ discs each) orders from KINO's latest sale - a few of which are blind buys (but stuff in my wheelhouse so to speak). I used to purchase just about anything on DVD if the price was low enough ($5 or less) but confine the majority of BR purchases to those...

I, too, have purchased far too many of those "titles any self-respecting film fan really should own" and, when finally watching them, discovered just *why* I'd not seen them before. Most I just didn't like and, honestly, when I read the descriptions at purchase time I didn't think I'd like them...

Streaming interfaces are, at best, kludges. The streaming process just isn't all that smooth (like the "need" or desire to ff/rewind/jump to a section, none of which work that well on streaming). I have fairly fast internet - faster than what's needed for quality streaming - and still have...
