JACK AND THE BEANSTALK - 70th Anniversary Restoration!

Noose is an MGM property so that would have to be licensed and I believe their prices have skyrocketed since the Amazon merge. Regarding Africa, our restoration will be re-issued at some point, but without the bonus contact that made the first edition so unique.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK - 70th Anniversary Restoration!

This information was shared elsewhere and is worth repeating here. Each...

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK - 70th Anniversary Restoration!

It’s worth noting, this is the first SuperCinecolor show that had to be preserved and restored from 35mm release prints. That is because all of the master 35mm elements - Eastman 5247 camera negative and red, blue, yellow separation masters - went missing in 1959 when the worldwide rights were...

If the Roan version runs longer than it incorporated footage that was accidentally put back into the film in the late 1970s by a TV distributor making the first 16mm color negative. Watch Cutting Down the Beanstalk for a full explanation. We have restored and preserved Lou Costello’s approved...

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK - 70th Anniversary Restoration!

Thanks and just to clarify, the lenticular cover insert was a post-campaign bonus exclusive option for the Kickstarter backers only. That was my little way to compensate patient backers for the unexpected delays in getting it finished!

That’s not confirmed but it’s very likely. Bud did the same in 1960 when he sold the rights to Meet Captain Kidd directly to RKO.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK - 70th Anniversary Restoration!

Lou Costello’s company Exclusive Productions owned it but he sold off the rights in 1958. Rights bounced around after that between Sterling television, RKO, Gold Key and eventually Turner Broadcasting. Someone dropped the ball when it came to the renewal.
