I'm currently half way thru 'Tight Rope' ("Corda tesa")
then I will watch one from my latest haul- probably the Italian release 'Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion' ("Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto")...same 4K resto as used by Criterion I believe.
Also saw 'Fury' a few days ago- I have to say I really enjoyed it even tho it got some negative reviews. I've liked nearly all of David Ayer's films that he has written or directed. :thumbs-up-smiley:
Have you been opting for the original lossy audio tracks on the older releases or the redone lossless dts-HD Master? I think I prefer the lossy ones- the newer lossless audio seems a bit too OTT to my ears or maybe it's just my set up.
Yes, I'm sure the price will drop soon enough too and if you are in the US and ordering from Amz UK you pay less than the advertised price as you don't have to pay the tax.
Just wanted to share with you guys the newish 'Clint Eastwood Eight Movie Collection' from Universal in the UK...transfers looks pretty nice so far. Apologies for all the pics but I know some of you may be interested in this set. Region free :thumbs-up-smiley:
Dropped thru my letterbox this morning- Sony's beautiful release of 'The Age Of Innocence'- dir.Martin Scorsese with Daniel Day-Lewis.

The transfer looks great and its a...

Hi Mike, the Japanese version seems to be the one to own but it's rather expensive. :(
But yes, a wonderful film which is now one of my favorites too. Not sure if you have seen it but another great film, and a personal favorite of mine, also set in China in the earlier 1900's, is 'Raise The Red...
Yes, Amazon UK...the aspect ratio is the same as the US Criterion (re-framed to 2.02:1) and image quality is very similar. If you are looking for the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio I believe it is available from Amazon Japan...info here...
Thanks for the tip- I actually own 'Potiche' too on bluray but have not watched it yet- even tho I bought it nearly 2 years ago! Maybe I'll make it a double feature then.
His only film I have seen so far is 'Swimming Pool' which I loved. 'Jeune & Jolie' comes out on bluray in the UK Monday...
