!wOw! Thanks, John!
So in order to see the "Film Break" should lower my screen a foot or so below the bottom of the film? Or, does the aspect ratio change before a film break?
When I watch a movie, I like it dark around the edges of the projection's aspect ratio, like in a theater. So if the projection is say more toward the middle of the screen, you'll see the white above and/or below the actual image.
I just pull the screen, fire up the flick till I determine the aspect ratio of that particular film, then adjust the screen accordingly. Most of my viewing is classic so the AR varies all the time.
Ya know...I think I may have been missing out on some cool effects. Every 3D flick I watch (any flick for that matter) I always adjust my projector and screen to fit tightly around the frame. If there's one thing I hate is the white bars above or below the screening. So when people describe the...
For all encompassing components, I'd ditto that list. I'd probably rotate in and out most anything from 3DFA - golden era, classics.
For sheer 3D; Thunder and The House of Magic, Sammy's Adventures / TT2, The Bubble, Comin' At Ya!
Anyone else care to chime in with your favs?
The reviews I've read about it have been nothing less than scathing.
I haven't bought it...And I'm a big sword & sandal guy so, there's that.
I wouldn't mind hearing any other takes on it. I'd love to buy it. But if it's utter dog vomit, nadda.
It's like my Sword & Sandal fandom days. I bought everything of the classic 60's era with Hercules, Samson, Ercole, Maciste, Sinbad, Atlas, etc. Then, I realized about half the DVDs I bought were dub & dump, and just SUCKED.
I got the'ol Alpha Video hosing.
Royally.
I'm happy to see a 3D release, but leery. Very.
I haven't heard a thing about this coming out. Nay a peep.
I'm guessing Bob & Company had nothing to do with the restoration.
So, who did?
