Problem with your scenario is it wouldn't last for years software wise. Apple usually ditches software upgrades well before the "end of life" of the iphone hardware.

Yeah those "tips" won't help if her phone is doing same as my daughters. It's beyond getting latest software, or avoid excess heat etc. The battery is already toast most likely. They need to run the diagnostic battery test to confirm though.

Not sure, but Apple kid told me it just came out a couple of months ago and told me I could have checked battery myself. I had no idea. I'm not sure where it's hiding in the phone or app store.

I'd run the battery test app and see if it shows that the battery is failing. That's what happened to my daughters phone. I didn't realize there was a new app for testing (we had store guy do the test). Give it a try to see what's up. Good luck!

I'd put my new Axon 7 up against the iphone 7 ANY day and I bet it would beat out the iphone in most if not all categories. And it would cost me a FRACTION of the cost. :) Better screen, more storage, more memory (RAM) , expandable storage, better battery, bigger camera, USB C fast charge...

Well my daughter iphone 6 finally took a final dump after two years. :( It would charge to 100% and then drop to 20% an minute later, or it would constantly reboot. It was a mess. Took it to Apple store (what fun that place is..lol) and was told battery was dead. For $80 could replace battery...

Nothing at all. Just a low key non-power user. Calls, text, no games.

Apple store had no idea what the cause was according to her.
