A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Greatest Show on Earth – in Blu-ray

I'd never heard of it, but I just looked at the trailer on IMDB, & bring it on :) It states MGM, so would that be Warner now?

A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Greatest Show on Earth – in Blu-ray

This release has filled a big Technicolored gap in the Cecil B DeMille filmography. With all the Kino (& European) releases, old Cecil is doing very well on Blu-ray (I hope Europe gets a release of Four Frightened People).

Apparently Kino tried to license The Crusaders, but Universal keep saying no. Who knows why the big studios say yes or no to the various licensees. They've licensed it out in France (great cover) & I have that Blu-ray, I haven't sat down & watched it yet, but the bits I've seen look really good.

Ha, I think the reverse! Wouldn't it be boring if we all thought the same thing, & I'm happy with Show winning best picture. The Oscars are only a bit of glittery fun (& not even that now). The Blu-ray is finally on its way to me after a few mishaps :) ...my favourite DeMille is still...

Ha, so basically...you don't like it :) That's fine, we all like different things. I don't like some of the finest films ever made, & do like some right old turkeys. It's all part of the mix.

Yes, it's been licensed out in Germany & France (I have the German release & it looks great), & Universal released it themselves in Spain (they've released a lot of their DeMille films there for some reason) & I don't know about the other two, but the Spanish release is regions ABC.

Ha, 5 for image & audio, that'll do for me. As corny as hell, but I like it (I only read these reviews for technical info, I know what I like by now), I'm glad I pre-ordered it. So that's, Unconquered (1947), Samson & Delilah (1949), The Greatest Show On Earth 91952) & The Ten Commandments...
