International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

I think the ending to The Prisoner is good but done in a fun way.

It looks like these big box sets are working out very well for Imprint. I would like a region B Blu of Bedtime Story, but no urgency, I'll wait & see if it get's an individual release from another company.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yes, I'm a total Blu-ray snob, but I still buy DVDs, mostly TV series that were shot on tape, or obviously won't ever get a Blu-ray release. Some movies too, if I just want to see it & it's not available on Blu-ray, after all we're film fans here, not tech-heads. And if you don't mind second...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Well I get the impression that Via Vision just release what they're given by the studios. So that could be from very good to very bad. They're certainly not a company that I'd pre-order from without reading a few reviews/comments first.

Yup, all these great old Columbia titles will be the ancient transfers that have been released in various European countries.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yes, if you're not in Australia, these releases are very expensive. I fancied The President's Analyst, but it's £35 on eBay (that's the cheapest from a good seller that I've bought from before) & Alfie is £65! It's a two disc set & Imprint seen to charge by the disc, so god know what the Silver...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Nothing I want this time, which should save me a few bob, as I'm sure those multi-disc sets are expensive, & then even more expensive getting the set to the UK.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yup, I think we're all thinking the same thing: will there be any unreleased Paramount titles in the batch, & if so, which ones.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yup, that the one Imprint release that I've bought, & I plan to buy The President's Analyst. They can only release what Paramount give them, not ideal, but that's how it is. It'll be interesting if any other company releases The Carpetbaggers & The President's Analyst. Importing from Australia...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yeah, it won't be a new transfer, but the DVD looks pretty good & it's bound to look better than that. In a sane world this would be getting the Paramount Presents treatment, but I'm just happy that we're getting what we're getting.

Ooo, just got to have The President's Analyst. That makes it two from my short Paramount wants list so far this year (along with The Greatest Show On Earth).

Ha, me too (Odeon, Shepherds Bush as I remember). I went to see War Of The Worlds, but stayed on to see Psycho, a bit of a mistake, as it creeped me out for weeks.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yes, but...the amount of times that I've read that Criterion will maybe be releasing a certain film, well they must have a backlog of thousands of films to release :)

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yes, but these companies can only release the masters they're given (I know some companies like Criterion & Arrow sometimes to their own restorations). The key word here is >patience< don't pre-order, read a review or two first, but I'd take a chance with Sony or WAC.

Thanks Anthony. Just a bit of arthritis so far, I've been really lucky with my health. The funny thing about getting old, is that if you're healthy, you don't feel old, I'm still in jeans & t-shirt & listening to 70s pop/rock (my favourite decade for music), & I don't think I even own a tie. The...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Ha, I'm 70 this year, & I'm not waiting for anything I don't have to wait for. I've bought lots of Blu-rays worldwide that haven't had a UK release (& probably never will have), but each to his own.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Ha, Paramount Presents is looking like a bit of a damp squib (not squid!) compared to the stuff they're licensing out to Imprint. It's the two sixties films for me, The Carpetbaggers & No Way To Treat A Lady. I'll have to think about A Place In The Sun, I've never seen it.

They wouldn't be, which is why I deleted that sentence 30 seconds after posting it, you were too quick for me. Move on, nothing to see here.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Yup, I was just pointing out that it was a BD-R, that's all. I don't have any BD-Rs, so I don't know how good they are or how long they last. I just know that if I had a choice between a pressed disc & a BD-R, I'd choose pressed, I don't quite know why. So Robert, please tell us...are you happy...
  20. Alan Tully

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

    Yeah, but it's a BD-R not a pressed disc.

Yes, that's where I'm at. More sets of announcements to look forward to. :)
