    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

Branded to Kill UHD was my favorite announcement that month. I hope we get more Japanese UHD's like that. Maybe some Imamura or Kurosawa next? They're releasing a bunch of Kurosawa in Japan on UHD, maybe Criterion can finally give us that Kurosawa collection so many of us dream of.

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

October was such an amazing month. A bit disappointed we didn't get a box set in November like the rumored Akira Kurosawa box.

Did VCI actually hint they would be getting around to the Flash serials? If so that's great news.

I agree. Robin Hood 4k however would surely be a huge one.

Me too, both David Copperfield and Captain Blood are absolute classics. I hope WAC gets to do both. :)

Scaramouche would be a dream come true too. That and The Prisoner of Zenda films are among my most wanted without a doubt!

Don Juan day 1! I'm so happy about that announcement. I hope they continue with these. Prisoner of Zenda next I hope!

I agree with this. I like getting slipcovers but if there isn't one available that's not going to stop me from buying the movie. Now a days throwing away slipcovers is like throwing away money. I know it sounds crazy but in some instances the slipcovers end up being worth more than the movie...

Yes most collectors I know only preorder because they want the slipcover, otherwise they tend to wait for sales. Must be pretty hard keeping track of things that way. Funny thing is this only applies to 4k UHD collecting, and not blu rays. I think it's probably due to a change in physical movie...

Around the World in 80 Days is one of my most wanted blu ray upgrades at this point. That and the two Prisoner of Zenda films.

With the use of a 4k blu ray player you could still watch 4k discs on a non 4k tv and benefit from the newer better restorations.

Pre-Order JFK Revisited: The Complete Collection (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I'm a fan of the 1992 film, so looking forward to seeing this.

Based on reading comments on forums I feel Giant will probably sell less well at first because they opted to not give it a slipcover. I know it's petty but I wonder if they're aware of what kind of impact a slip does in convincing collectors to buy at once at full price instead of waiting for a...

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

I agree. Ideally a box set similar to the Essential Fellini or the Bergman treatment would be ideal. So you suspect a Pasolini box set could be next. That's very interesting.

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

As far as I know every single one of his films other than The Idiot, are now available with HD masters (Dersu Uzula might be from a very old scan). A bunch of them even have new 4k masters that were made in Japan over the last 4 or so years. This includes Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, The...

What are the odds of a Kurosawa boxset one of these days?

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

Yes, my mistake. For Barry Lyndon I meant 4k. Lolita would be nice in 4k too of course.

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

I would love a Lolita release. Barry Lyndon would be great too. A somewhat lesser known title that I believe they have that I'd love for them to release is I Know Where I'm Going.

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Mr. Insider, did the new Universal deal happen or is that still in the works?

I know this is probably veering off topic, but for what it's worth I'm more of a 48h guy too (big Eddie Murphy fan). Lethal Weapon is good, and so is the sequel, but I do tend to find them somewhat overrated (and I like Mel Gibson too).

Seeing that in the last year WAC did give us Ivanhoe and The Three Musketeers gives me a lot of hope that they're getting back to sword adventure epics. So hopefully films like Captain Blood, both The Prisoner of Zenda films, Sacaramouche, and the others mentioned in the last page, will get a...

Yes! So many of those titles are titles I dream of seeing getting the WAC blu ray releases. Not sure that this would be WAC but I noticed it's the 80th anniversary of Casablanca this year. I wonder if Warner would do a UHD release for it.

I love Warner Brothers Archive, and in the last year despite having less releases they've given us some really great titles such as Stage Fright, Ivanhoe, The Three Musketeers, and now both versions of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I'm crossing my fingers that they also give us both versions of The...

    Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Three Musketeers (1948) – in Blu-ray

That's amazing that the silent version is getting a blu ray too. It's the first time I hear of the Film Preservation Society. I hope they do more Douglas Fairbanks blu rays. I love those movies. I'm a new user here, first post, but very excited to finally do more than lurking on this wonderful...
