It sounds like you need bookshelves and or tower speakers in addition to the ceiling speakers. Just a FYI in case you don't know ceiling speakers are Intended for Dolby atmos and dts x.
I trust this is helpful 😀
Please find a way as best as possible to follow the Dolby atmos guidelines.
In case you don't know. Speakers are intended to be at specific locations as per angles from main listening position.
Open plan rooms often make it difficult but the biggest issue is that people are unwilling to...
Yes those ceiling speakers are fine. However they are to be used for Dolby atmos and dts x.
What you need is two more speakers for surrounds around ear level. And your receiver only supports one pair of Atmos speakers. So 5.1.2 or 7.1
Have a read up on Dolby atmos guidelines to learn further...
Yamaha v6a if you have no need for gaming or very high bandwith requirements.
I'll encourage looking into Dolby atmos if you watch TV series and movies that has atmos available.
Even though you may claim no desire. You might want to reconsider the possibility. Just don't rule it out...
The answer is no.
An av receiver sends the audio to speakers.
Not a soundbar. And earc works to send audio from a television or display. To the receiver.
I have a suggestion on this.
If you are height limited in wall size Go 2.39.
If it's width limited in wall size. Go 16:9
It sounds like you want the biggest image possible and that comes down to both viewing distance and wall dimensions.
I'm doing 16:9 for a number of reasons.
1. Gives me the...
I don't touch auro 3d myself personally. Receiver doesn't support it and lack of content. Therefore no personal experience.
I stick with Dolby atmos.
If you do change seating position. Recalibrate the system for each time you do it. Was this done or not?
Well. Hard to say for certain but Dolby does have a recommendation of at least 1.2 meters away. So let's start with that.
It seems the person above disagrees with Dolby specifications of the angles for atmos speakers. And 99% of feedback I've seen to date has people raving that those angles...
What I mean is your too close to the back walls to accommodate 4 atmos and rear speakers as intended and that's why I always state sit away from walls.
There are issues when sitting too close to walls.
Speakers too close to listening position you want a minimum of 1.2m away. Bass will.be impacted. Sometimes too far from screen.
Inability to achieve 4 atmos speakers as the angle will be on the wall and doesn't have enough seperation between the...
Your current layout limits you to 5.1.2 maxium
Here's what I'd do differently. Sit at 2/3 room distance. Position the speakers correctly and then you can enjoy it as intended without the negatives of sitting too close to walls.
This way we can look at achieving 7.1.4
I've planned for this...
I'd recommend doing a design on sketchup or other 3d software. and using the protractor for the locations for the speaker placements.
I've compared this tool to my design and it's different.
I also suggest that you start thinking like a home theater over any personal preference reasons that...
I don't touch auro 3d for a few reasons. Lack of content support. My receiver doesn't support it. Dolby atmos is the most widely used format in the Industry.
I setup as per Dolby specifications and I'm not going to comment about auro 3d as I've had 0 opportunities to try it.
you do need the...
A receiver does need to support atmos to deliver it. Older receivers often do not. If atmos isn't listed then its not support.
Ceiling speakers 10 times better than those upfirng gimmick trash. This is a fact. You are guaranteed to have atmos from ceiling speakers. You are not guaranteed to...
These are supposed to connect to the bose bass module then the receiver which has propriety connections. The model number is usually on that.
Best to start all over.
Regards.
Optical is the worst for audio formats and therefore is highly recommended to be avoided unless it's the last option on earth.
You need hdmi arc at a minimum for Dolby digital plus support.
If you don't have arc working. It needs to be enabled on both the tv and receiver. And that the hdmi...
You can start your relocating the surrounds on speaker stands beside and slightly behind the main listening position.
(This is critical for accurate surround sound experience) and relocate the ceiling speakers if needed to be used for Dolby atmos.
Open plan rooms are often challenging and it's...
Can't say I want to watch Black Adam again.
I didn't feel good about that movie at all. Even after like 10 minutes or so. But I still watched the rest of it!
You wish! for that utter ridiculous size limitation. You will be unable to achieve better sound quality.
I don't suggest any speaker that has a smaller than 5.25 inch speaker driver.
And the woofer itself is bigger than your 5" restriction
