For anyone that ever has this idea, you can use this sub with a modern receiver, i used a 3.5mm female to rca adapter (with the 3.5mm yellow subwoofer input cable only), plugged it into the subwoofer output of a STRDH790 and it works great
I use my computer with the TV and will be upgrading my gpu to an HDMI 2.1 gpu, likely the GTX 3080 or some other similar name
It matters because this reciever will not have features such as VRR etc as HDMI 2.1 will have
But this does not answer my initial question of:
HDMI 2.1 earc vs HDMI...
I have a STRDH790
It got an update receiving EARC, the specs list it as HDMI 2.0 or is actually 2.1?
With the purpose of HDMI 2.1 EARC being that it allows the audio to be uncompressed full quality with a 2.1 EARC TV
My question is, if it is HDMI 2.0 with EARC is the same? Or is it only...
One last idea, one of the inputs are for the subwoofer slots on my computer
Could I put a 3.5mm to RCA subwoofer cable to the reciever from the sub input?
I have another subwoofer with ONLY two spring clips (one positive/one negative)
Could I use a speaker wire to rca adapter for the sub out on the receiver?
i have Altec Lansing Dell ADA-995
what i would like to know is if i could put a Y splitter on the Front Left and Front Right going to the Sub Out on a Reciever, and is this safe to do?
