Overall I thought it was fun. But I watch way to many old movies for my own good and the fake black and white film drove me crazy. Laura Donnelly in particular was in desperate need of a make-up artist who understood how to do make-up for B&W.
Off-Topic since this is about theatrical experiences rather than home video...
It's my understanding that both of these films were originally released in mono.
A few months ago, I saw the new 4K restoration of The Godfather. I paid a premium to see it at the Lincoln Square Dolby theater in...
For a lot of these plans, if you know you aren't going to keep them longer than you've already paid for, you can go ahead and cancel them immediately. It will stop them from rebilling you, but you'll still have access till whatever time you already paid for is up.
Both actually. This is on my Chromecast with Google TV. There is no mention of sound formats in the show descriptions, and everything is in 2 channel stereo. Have no problem getting 5.1 on Netflix, HBO, etc.
This is interesting...I just checked mine and can't find anything that isn't in ye olde 2 channel stereo, including shows mentioned in this thread as being 5.1 Assuming there isn't a hidden setting somewhere? I remember when Paramount+ was still CBS you had to manually turn on DD+ every time...
Just saw it on a proper IMAX screen and yeah, loved it. Was glad to see them stray from the Bond "formula" a bit. Some of the humor didn't work but the whole cast was great and Daniel Craig was Connery level great throughout. For me, as good if not better than Skyfall, which puts it on par...
I went though 3 blu-ray players in as many years trying to use them for streaming. After about a year, everything was so outdated that they wouldn't stream anymore. (Still played discs just fine.) Finally caved and bought a Roku. More than got my money's worth out of it.
I use the free version of LastPass. I've been happy with it so never tried any of the others. I like that if I'm on someone else's computer I can just pull up the app on my phone to get the password I've forgotten.
HBO MAX surround sound oddity
HI, just wanted to post my experience and see if others are having the same issue.
Got one of the new Chromecast with GoogleTV for Christmas. Of course the first thing I did with it was watch WW84. Sound defaulted to 5.1 and sounded great. However, every other...
I spent years of my adult life without a TV and didn't miss it. Now I have a blu-ray collection, all the major streaming services and still paying for 200 cable channels I never watch.
Deactivated my Facebook months ago as an easy way to get rid of all my "friends" who were really just...
Thanks everyone for the advice. Yes the problem is with the streaming apps, not disc playback. It's a big deal to me because my agreement with my roommate gives her access to my streaming accounts, Netflix, Hulu, HBO etc. Right now she seems to be happy with Chromecast, but I may pick up a...
Don't know if it's still available, but Terry Gilliam's commentary on the old criterion laserdisk of Monty Python and the holy Grail made my heart sing. He starts out with a really negative attitude toward the film and really picks it apart. But slowly the silliness of the film wins him over...
Hi all. I'm at the end of my rope here. I've been through so many blu-ray players in the past few years and my current one has just started acting up. Sony BDP-S3700 less than 6 months old which replaced a BDP-S1700 which lasted less than a year. In the 2 years before that I went through a...
