Three questions:
1. Will WAC/Warner have access to the restoration work that Second Sight is doing with The Hitcher in the UK?
2. WAC has about 200 Golden Harvest titles. Any updates on when we might see any in the line?
3. Is George a fan of Charles Bronson and should we expect...
Can anyone who has NOT had any issues with the motion blur, post some pictures of some of the fast moving scenes that have been posted here and at Blu-ray.com? It would be beneficial to see how much of an impact equipment might be able to make.
I plan on returning it once I find a supplier that has verified copies that don't have the ghosting. If it takes longer than it needs to, I'll eat the cost. I prefer to still have the film in my collection for reference purposes.
I worry that if I return it I'll go through this whole process again for another defective copy as I want a copy of the film despite its flaws. I'll probably wait until I see that there is a supplier who seems to have not gotten any of the copies that are having issues.
As an aside, I also...
I've taken a few pictures. The first one is with Kirk. It actually looks like there is a ghost behind him. It was a double. The second is after Anthony Quinn falls down. The third is right before Quinn sits down. The quality isn't the greatest as it's from my phone.
This is what a reviewer on Blu-ray.com is asking from us:
I also experienced the motion blur. Anyone who is experiencing it, can you please either post or PM me your home setup situation? I’m a reviewer and I’m in touch with Paramount about the issue. They wanted to know my setup, so it might...
I don't have a way of capturing screen grabs, as I don't have a Blu-ray drive. The best I could do is take a picture on my phone and post it, but not sure how that will come out. Let me know if you want me to do that and I can take a few.
Similar to the reviewer I've tried the disc on three different TVs with four different players. Sony, Samsung, Toshiba TVs. Players Sony, Toshiba, PS4, and Xbox. All have the issue. Which is very odd. Could some of the discs have been manufactured incorrectly?
Another forum has posted screen caps of the issue. I was the first to point it out there before someone else posted the grabs. It's a major issue. Starts at around 30 minutes in when Anthony Quinn sits down. The worst is when Anthony Quinn throws the chair at Kirk Douglas around the 1 hour...
So this release has severe ghosting/interlacing issues that become apparent after the 30 minute mark and gets progressively worse as the film goes on. While the film looks great when there is no or little motion, once things pick up the ghosting becomes very apparent. Seems to have been an...
In terms of what's available, I pretty much own all the Disney movies I really want. However, how many full price films do I need to buy again for the commitment? Was it 3 or 5? For some reason I remember it being 5, but if it's 3, it might be manageable.
So this post will be a bit different. I'm not announcing that this is coming out, but at this point it has a 50/50 chance of happening in the United States.
So after talking to Celluloid Dreams, they told me they sold the rights to Film Movement. After talking to Film Movement, they confirmed...
