Press Release MPI Press Release: The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet Seasons 1 & 2 (DVD)

I've only bought the Season 1 DVD set. I'm still waiting to see if there's anything about a complete series set. I'll just buy that if it's released and donate the set I've already got.

ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A COMPREHENSIVE MARILYN MONROE Blu-ray set?!?

She also did Love Is Better Than Ever (1952), a B-comedy MGM allegedly rushed her into because she divorced her first husband, Conrad Hilton Jr., so soon.

I know they issued complete series box sets of Here's Lucy and The Doris Day Show.

Press Release MPI Press Release: The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet: Seasons 3-6

What are the odds of a complete series box set being released? I know sometimes companies box all the DVD sets into one big set after they have released them individually, or vice versa. Should I be holding my breath for a complete series set?

    Mexican Telenovelas

I do not have a cable or satellite provider. We don't even have WiFi at our house. I downloaded Telemundo on my phone, but it was in Spanish, so I deleted it.

Anyone familiar with this Disney set?

Which is? Sorry for my disc illiteracy.

Anyone familiar with this Disney set?

That's the way I am seeing it too. I was excited when I found it, but I'm afraid it's a phony.

Anyone familiar with this Disney set?

I've seen this set flooding some online shopping centers lately. Is anyone familiar with it? Does it work with Region 1 DVD players? There's a Blu-ray version too. I've had a seller tell me it's from Canada.

    Mexican Telenovelas

I was unsure where I needed to post this thread, so if it needs to be moved, feel free to do so. But my sister-in-law and I are wanting to watch a Mexican telenovela. I've watched the "Telenovelas Are Hell" videos on YouTube, and they're keeping me going for now. These little five-minute...

ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A COMPREHENSIVE MARILYN MONROE Blu-ray set?!?

In late July 1962, Monroe had settled her differences with Fox. She a new $1 million, two-picture deal with the studio. She was scheduled to resume filming Something's Got to Give in October, and What a Way to Go! (then called I Love Louisa) was to follow. Shirley MacLaine did end up replacing...

Sorry for my lengthy deviation. Back to Marilyn.

ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A COMPREHENSIVE MARILYN MONROE Blu-ray set?!?

I love Kim Novak's look and she was one of my grandmother's favorite actresses when she was young (my grandmother, I mean). I used to have big books about classic movie actresses and my grandmother always stopped on Kim Novak and would say, "I've always liked her. She was so pretty." With...

ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A COMPREHENSIVE MARILYN MONROE Blu-ray set?!?

The only things I've seen her in was her guest gigs on What's My Line?

ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A COMPREHENSIVE MARILYN MONROE Blu-ray set?!?

You have that a little backwards friend. Move Over, Darling had the two daughters, while Something's Got to Give had the son and daughter. Ummm I don't know. But it's evident that the scripts were tailored to fit the talents of the leading ladies. The Monroe version was sexier, while the Day...

ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A COMPREHENSIVE MARILYN MONROE Blu-ray set?!?

I'm unsure how much of the script was changed once Doris Day was brought aboard, but I'd be willing to bet that the sexiness was toned down. And, of course, Day wasn't going to do a nude swim (she later turned down the Mrs. Robinson role because it was "vulgar"). Dean Martin wasn't going to...

The Lucille Ball Specials [discussion thread]

And since we've already mentioned her, let's take a moment to honor Mary Jane Croft. Aside from Vivian Vance, she worked as Lucy's on-screen sidekick longer than anyone else, but gets far less recognition. I can understand why she sometimes gets the shaft, especially considering the programs she...

    Netflix Blonde (2022)

It is certainly the norm for modern interpretations of Marilyn to present her as a victim. And while I'll agree that she was occasionally a victim, she wasn't always the victim. There were actually several circumstances where Marilyn took charge and got what she wanted. Take, for example, her...

Lucille Ball, the Post-I Love Lucy Thread

I read somewhere once that the "earliest scripts" were called The Lucille Ball Show, but the show never aired as such.

But The Lucy Show was still a big ratings winner. During its six seasons, the series never placed lower than #8 in the annual tallying of TV shows.

The Lucille Ball Specials [discussion thread]

I've heard varying things about this movie. For Lucy's "departure" to drama after over three decades in sitcoms, people had a mixed reaction. Still, I'd like to see it myself.

Someone, somewhere needs to make a movie about the production of Cleopatra. I'm sure it would be more entertaining that what the movie ended up being.

My wife and I saw this advertised, and we both mentioned wanting to see it. Despite not being a big Will Ferrell fan, this movie looks funny. I like Ryan Reynolds and Octavia Spencer.

The Lucille Ball Specials [discussion thread]

This is a valid question. But I'd be inclined to say "yes", there was post-I Love Lucy work from Lucille Ball that was good. The premiere, B&W season of The Lucy Show is actually quite good, and she and Vivian Vance play hilariously off one another. The episode "Lucy and Viv Put in a Shower" is...

The Lucille Ball Specials [discussion thread]

Lucille Ball (television's "First Lady of Comedy") ended her near-25-year-run as a TV star when Here's Lucy concluded in 1974, but she continued to appear in the medium. She did a series of television movies and specials, such as Happy Anniversary and Goodbye (1974) and Lucy Calls the...
