    Doctor Who

I didn't know there was any special coming until it showed up on my DVR last night. I deleted my facebook account years ago, so anything there doesn't help me. Hopefully the next iteration will be more interesting and fun.

Your top three films of 2011

If I only count the movies where I also bought the disc it would be: 1. Sucker Punch 2. Tangled 3. Cars 2 There were a lot of other good ones that I didn't buy but enjoyed, like Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and Captain America.

    Dune (2021)

I watched it on HBO Max over the weekend. It was beautiful but the plot was a bit slow and plodding. I've never read the book(s), but was able to follow most of the threads since Star Wars borrowed a lot from Dune. This feels more like Game of Thrones in space, a little too much brooding and...

    Disney+ Black Widow (2021)

Watched it for the first time on D+. My favorite character ended up being the Stranger Things "dad", he was hilarious.

    Loved it.

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

I have Imax tickets for a Friday showing. Currently it looks like a total of 10 seats are pre-sold. Really looking forward to this.

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

I watched the Craig Bond movies over the weekend in anticipation of seeing the new one this coming weekend. I don't dislike Craig, but I'm hoping the next bond will bring a little more of the fun back. The trend is more and more serious, so I'll probably be disappointed. Here is my ranking of...

    Reminiscence (2021)

As others have said, it was a fine movie, not great. The plot was not very interesting but the cinematography was beautiful. It may grow on me some more with some future viewings. I'm not sure Blade Runner type films do very well anymore. Film Noir seems to be a very limited audience now.

    Amazon Prime Bosch Season 7

We've been waiting for this forever. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Amazon to buy MGM! See Post #11

Bezos is basically a Bond villain, so it makes sense he would buy them.

    The COVID Vaccination Thread

I'm hoping a lot of the more boring meetings continue on Zoom/Teams going forward. Not everything needs to be in person. Our state went with the no masks for vaccinated folks and the big box stores all said they would go along, so I dropped in today to see what was happening while I picked up...

    Weekly RoundUp 3-2-2021

My dream someday is to have a complete Bob Hope movie collection. Probably won't happen, but I pick up every release that comes out.

    The COVID Vaccination Thread

Received dose 1 of Moderna yesterday morning. No pain all morning, some mild irritation in the afternoon. Today it feels like someone walloped me in the arm. A little worse than other shots I've had, but not unbearable. Dose 2 scheduled for Feb 5.

    Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

It was definitely not as good as the first movie, but I don't think I'm ready to lump it with the worst DC dreck yet. The ending did feel empty and that they were trying to setup a sequel and/or explain the creation of future villains. I was too dense to pick up any political overtones other...

Warner Bros. to Debut Entire 2021 Film Slate, Including ‘Dune’ and ‘Matrix 4,’ Both on HBO Max and In Theaters

Warner will end up getting a lot more money out of me by doing this since I don't currently subscribe to HBO Max and wouldn't have gone to the theater for most of these movies reguardless of the pandemic. Maybe I'm in the minority, but this seems pretty smart.

HBO Max HBO Max (Official Thread)

I was only planning on subscribing to HBO Max for a month to watch WW and other shows I'm interested in, the move to put all the theatrical films on will keep me subscribed, very smart. Hope the other studios follow suit.

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

My first bond was the TV debut of Live and Let Die when I was 8. It was the first time my dad let me stay up late and watch a movie with him. I was enthralled and still find this one of Roger Moore's best outings. My dad mentioned there was some other bond he liked better, but it would be...

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)

Glad to hear this is likely to happen. After Guardians, this is my favorite sub-series. It probably goes back to a book I read as a kid where a boy was shrunk down and had to live with the ants in his yard. I don't remember the name, but Honey I shrunk the kids covered similar territory too...

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

Any chance this will be offered for $20 rental opening weekend like Bill & Ted was? I'd prefer not to wait for the disc, but probably won't go to a theater this year.

    Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)

Just watched this film on Blu and really enjoyed it. I didn't know any plot points going in, so enjoyed the nostalgic ride. The Atmos soundtrack gave my system a good workout and I could really feel the bass roll through me a few times.

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

Thanks for your work on this! This has always been my favorite bond movie. Although Lazenby may have been difficult, I'm not sure it would have the same heart and soul if Connery had been in this one. Several of my favorite films have been saved in editing, Star Wars comes to mind.

    Doctor Who

I don't mind a "Humans are Bad" plot once in awhile, but Orphan 55 was pretty much the worst execution I've seen for that. To really get people to think it needs to be more thoughtful and usually with a twist that you don't see coming, like the original Planet of the Apes. I think they wanted...

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

Billie Eilish seems to be the front runner on the rumor mill at the moment. The director follows her on Instagram and she posted a bunch of Bond girl photos. I'm old, so don't know what she sounds like. Hopefully it's better than some of the recent drek.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

I knew most of the plot points going in so it was interesting to observe the crowd reactions. Here are the ones that stuck out to me: 1. Chewbacca and C3PO fake outs - complete silence, nobody seemed to buy they were gone 2. Rey is a Palpatine - audible gasps and several people shouting "No"...

Bond 25 - "No Time to Die" (2021)

The rogue agent trope has been overused for quite a while. It would be nice to go back to a little less convoluted plot. I've found a lot of the new villains to be unmemorable and the stories overly complicated. Although Roger Moore used to be my least favorite Bond, I could use a little more...
