How are you dealing with life now with the Covid-19 virus situation?

I didn’t mention any politics. This thread is about Covid.

How are you dealing with life now with the Covid-19 virus situation?

So, anybody read Fauci’s emails? Specifically about masks not stopping Covid?

How are you dealing with life now with the Covid-19 virus situation?

What’s the point of getting vaccinated if you still have to wear a mask and feel you are vulnerable to Covid?

Why I Own So Many Movies.

As a collector and seller of media, my opinion is most DVDs and Blu-rays that are worthless today will rise in value especially if still new and sealed. I have thousands of overstocked movies, every once in a while I go through them to see what has risen in value so I can list them for sale...

The DVDs have a great PQ, IMO. About as good as it gets for SD.

Pre-Order Charlie’s Angels: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Subtitles are a must for me. Won’t buy without them which is why I don’t have the Miami Vice or The Rockford Files BR sets. I have both on DVD but won’t be able to upgrade until they add subtitles. Been think about getting this release, I have most seasons on DVD but I’d like to see it in HD.

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

So I haven’t been here in a while. Got a new girlfriend a few months ago and haven’t been watching a lot of my usual TV shows on disc. Been so long I forgot how much time and money they take lol. Anyway I’ve had the first season of Kojak on my shelf for a long time and just started watching...

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

As far as VHS tapes go, there are thousands of movies, concerts, documentaries and other genres that haven’t been released on DVD or Blu-ray. While volume has dropped I still sell quite a few VHS tapes per month. And around here you can get a VCR at Goodwill for $5 to $10 bucks. I have in my...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Thanks to a heads up on this forum I bought the complete Streets of San Francisco DVD set from Walmart a few years ago for $20. It does look great, like Columbo and Mannix. It really shows when studios care about the product they release. And it shows when they’re just in it to make a buck too.

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I bought the complete Columbo series years ago and watched the first season. At the time I was thinking it’s ok, not super impressed but I realize it takes time for a series to hit it’s stride. So a few nights ago I started the second season. I’m liking it more now. I definitely think the...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I got season one of this a few weeks ago and would love to watch it. Unfortunately no subtitles and no CC. So I’m SOL unless I can get it streaming and they offer subtitles.

What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

Sell enough items and negative feedback will definitely come your way, you can do everything right and still get bad feedback because it’s impossible to please everyone. A few negative feedbacks I got were: A lady ordered an item and we shipped it within an hour. A few hours later she emailed...

What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

Amazon cleared me of any wrongdoing, I forgot to state in my post. As far as the things you’ve mentioned I don’t doubt there are people using multiple accounts to sell fakes although I have no idea how they can do it because you have to have bank information on file for direct deposit of your...

What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

I’m an Amazon seller and they take bootlegs or even an accusation of a bootleg seriously. Recently a customer complained a dvd I sold them of Circle of Friends wouldn’t play properly and may be a bootleg. I received an email from Amazon telling me I was suspended from selling that title unless...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Continuing the Buck Rogers Blu-ray set, on disc 3 now of the first season. It’s definitely a product of it’s time, the late 70’s. I don’t say that as a bad thing. I dig it (see what I did there). The clothes, disco music, guest stars, I love it all. Seeing things like props that were used in...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

JAG was a series I didn’t want to end. Even after 10 seasons I was literally sad knowing the last episode was it. I enjoyed season 1 although I think it became a better show with the revamping in season 2. At the time when I was finishing the first season, I put in disc 1 of the second season...

Pre-Order Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - The Complete Collection (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I am also enjoying this set. PQ is great. Wilma was a beautiful woman! I watched it during its original run, I was 9 at the time. I can only hope there will be more shows from then that will see the Blu-ray treatment.

The War of the Worlds – Criterion Blu-ray Review

Picked up this Criterion Blu-ray new/sealed at a thrift store today for $6. Watched it tonight, what a treat. Looked incredible for an almost 70 year old movie.

THE SMITH FAMILY (1971-1972) from VEI, May 1

I understand there are costs associated with subtitles or CC. I understand these are small companies. Any restaurants, bars, stores in general have to provide access to handicapped people. There are extra costs to implement these codes, no matter how small the business is, you want to open...

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

Interesting article but really has no bearing on my sales as 99% of my DVD or Blu-ray sales are discs that are usually OOP. I scour pawn shops, thrift stores, flea markets to get my inventory. Where I live DVDs are usually $1 or less, Blu-rays $3 or less. I have bought new stock from online...

THE SMITH FAMILY (1971-1972) from VEI, May 1

I figured being VEI there wouldn’t be subtitles. I had a little hope because I see the Charlie’s Angel MC Blu-ray set does have subtitles, MC might be changing their modus operandi...or maybe this is an aberration. I continue to hope other companies recognize that adding subtitles will mean...

Concert Blu-rays (rock and pop) you recommend

I have several concerts on DVD and Blu-ray and laserdisc. My favorites include Police Certifiable, I have the DVD but will probably upgrade to the Blu-ray as some point. I think the Eagles Live in Australia may be my favorite. Besides watching masters at their work the PQ and audio are...

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

Obviously it’s no secret physical disc sales have been declining for years. As a seller of media online my normal ‘best of the year’ sales are always the weeks from mid November to mid December. However with the lockdown I started seeing my sales go up around the beginning of March and are just...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Well after watching on and off for years I finally finished Mannix last night. I doubt I’ll revisit it again but you never know. In season 6 of St Elsewhere. It’s still enjoyable but I really don’t care much for Ronny Cox coming in to take over. He’s a solid actor but it just doesn’t work for...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Tonight I watched two episodes from season four of The Twilight Zone. I’m not really a fan of the hour long format but I enjoyed the second episode “No Time like the Past”. Left me wondering if it had influenced BTTF 3. After that was a Mannix episode, I have eight left in the last season and...
