Your right The DVD is in nice Stereo.
the original film in the 50’s was either a 4 track Mag or a Perspecta Stereo track and even Perspecta sounded better than the Mono track on the Bluray.
I ran them in the UK back in the day.
This was a big disappointment as it is in Mono 1 channel Mono.
The DVD is in Stereo and quite a nice mix.
The Bluray is Mono and sounds poor by comparison.
Warner dropped the ball on this one.
what happened Warners.?
The TV version is a different cut to the film and as you say Australia included, everything was Mono But the cinema of course had many forms of Stereo surround.4 track Magnetic and Dolby Stereo Surround.
Have to say the Stereo version sounds wonderful, especially in the cinema, with Sennsurround...
Wonderful series.Loved it back in the day...Love it now.
Erin Gray is a Knockout.
I have the Australian release and apart from the movie, which is standard definition, the rest of the box set is HD and looks superb.

The Majestic closed in 1969.I was the operator on duty,on the last night, showing The Good The Bad & The Ugly.
After it closed it became a Bingo house.

it was a superb 70 mm house in its day.
Loved...
It did top business in its 70mm engagements.I ran the film in 70mm on two shows a day to full houses for a few months. That was in the UK at the Majestic Leeds.
Apart from its Mono sound,it’s a nice upgrade from the DVD.Top film too. Michael Craine is excellent. The print is quite good,no where near perfect, but perfectly watchable.
As it was shot Widescreen,I think Randy,it will be released in that format. But you never know V The Final Battle was Widescreen on DVD but 4.3 on Bluray. And that was from Warners too.
The Australian release is outstanding.Superb picture with Mono sound. The Movie version is in Mono.
It the cinemas and Laserdisc it was Stereo surround.
I still have the Laserdisc.Wonder if it plays...

I ran this around 1957 in the U.K.at the Playhouse Cinema Dewsbury and I enjoyed it.Very old fashioned now. Never made in 4 track Magnetic Stereo as far as I know. Being a British Film on all there CinemaScope films, all we ever got was Mono. It was available form Amazon U.K.but the print is a...
