There are 3 concert/music movies that deserve a 4k remaster IMHO:
Pink Floyd's The Wall-(presented in 70MM with 6-track Dolby in some theaters)
U2 Rattle and Hum
Talking Heads Stop Making Sense
Are there others that you can think of?
I wanted to calibrate my home theater using an SPL meter. I have a Yamaha RX-V371 that does not have calibration capabilities. I had an old Radio shack meter years ago. Can anyone recommend a good one that does not cost too much?
I spoke to a rep from Yamaha yesterday and they told me that YPAO is not supported with the RX-V371. The RX-V371's picture on the website with the microphone is incorrect.
I have a Yamaha RXV-371 receiver> I like it a lot but it does not have room calibration equipment. I don't want to get another receiver yet just to get this feature. What calibration equipment would you suggest?
Over the last several years, speaker manufacturers have tailored to the budget home theater market in a big way. Companies like ELAC, RBH, Polk and many others have made speakers that have high quality components at low to moderate prices. As a long-time HT geek, I am very happy about the trend...
I have a blu ray player approximately 4 years old with a dumb 42 inch TV. I have noticed that blu ray prices have been going down. Is this a sign that UHD is taking over and should I be concerned regarding obsolescence?
Call me old fashioned (hence my name), but with so many outstanding 5.1 speaker systems out there, why would someone want a soundbar. I get the space and WAF, but they sound so bad. The only bar I want sound from is one I am drinking from.
First of all, thanks for your comments and support. Secondly, I just finished setting up my home theater. Even without a sub, it sounds pretty good. Maybe in the future. Now I have some bluray catching up to do.
I have downsized (due to marriage-WAF u know) from my old Boston Acoustics T930 tower speakers to 4 Polk T15 Bookshelf speakers and a Polk T30 center channel. Comments and/or suggestions?
